No thread for this yet?! Normally, I'm more patient when waiting for C&C threads, but this episode was really good. Lots of stuff was revealed in it, and apparently both Shark and Skillet died. Poor Skillet...

I can't wait for the conclusion. Grade: 5/5

i don't know what the hell's going on, but i've actually grown to like it. it seems there is more to this than a crappy stick cartoon.

12 oz. Mouse has one of the best endings of any AS original.

Did anybody get what Muff said concerning Roostre? I couldn't really hear about half of what he was saying.

I suppose Shark's death was fitting in hindsight, especially after Rectangular Businessman's speech. For one who always wants to be in control and used to actually be in control, what more delicious way to die exists than to be assassinated by your so-called puppets?

The same goes for RBM. He was so arrogant and so assured of winning that he became careless after knocking down Mouse and Co.'s ship and apparently killing Skillet (reminds me way too much of Ball Turret Gunners). By the time he realized he was heading directly into Amaloch's path, it was too late.

That just leaves the dark figure. He seems to be in cahoots with Shark and RBM, but RBM turned him into a puddle of water. Then again, like the people of Corndogcentral have noted, he did drop Peanut Cop off at the Clock Shop. RBM was obviously displeased that the shop's seal had been broken, so I don't know... Considering that the jar with the water wasn't destroyed in the explosion of RBM's bank, maybe we'll see another appearance by him to bring a bit of closure.

I'm kinda hoping that New Guy pulls through. Also, I guess Skillet tried the hardest, that little guy. Poor, poor Skillet.

As for the Asprind, I wonder what it's for, and why it's so imperative that all the fields get destroyed. I also missed that part of Muff's speech. I do find it interesting how pretty much the entire city is built under Asprind and that Aspirind...is people.

I think we'll see a confrontation with Amaloch and the destruction of the Asprind fields next time.

My thinking is that the Asprind is the method for memory supression that had been used.

Over on the corndogcentral board, Matt Maiellaro said something about the episode running long (12 minutes instead of 11:30) tonight, and that it may be cut in any subsequent reruns. So, get your recorders started. Although the shortened opening and credits as seen on the Fix may have been the solution to that problem.

Anyway, we're only one episode away from the end, and I sure hope it's a satisfying conclusion. So far it's been a great, apocalyptic finale. I can't believe Shark died without having any last words. It's ironic, because Shark often had the great last lines of many episodes, but didn't get to say anything before his own death.

I don't think RBM is dead yet. I mean you can't have him die without Fitz having a chance to get revenge. That would as stupid as having a Superman movie where Superman gets stabbed in the gut by Lex Luthor, but afterwards doesn't have any kind of confrontation with him or bring him to justice in the end. And that would never happen.

I was also disappointed by Shark's rather unceremonious death. He deserved a greater end. Then again, that makes me think he might not quite be dead yet. There's also the little detail that he's supposed to be bulletproof, so he shouldn't of been able to get killed like that.

Anyway, for those who couldn't get it, here's the conversation between Muff and Liquor in the sewer:

-------
LIQUOR: Roostre?

MUFF: He's not in here, anymore. He's up there.

LIQUOR: Muff, you're free!

MUFF: For now. Where's Mouse?

LIQUOR: Where's Mouse? Where isn't he?

MUFF: The Asprind fields, must be burned.

LIQUOR: I know. I knew about those fields.

MUFF: Then we'll all meet, at the river. But we'll need Mouse, or we'll never get through, the "upfalls".

LIQUOR: 10-4, I'll follow the Corndroid.
-------

The only word I'm not sure about is "upfalls", but that's the best I could make out of what he said. Hopefully tonight it'll have closed-caption and I can be sure.

And I thought Shark was bulletproof.

Action corn dog go!

Aww, they killed off the best drawn character!

I can't believe they had Shark go out like Boba Fett. I kinda always figured Skillet would die since he's the most humble of the characters. It caused Peanut Cop to become temporarily sober. Is Roostre dead as well? Well at least that annoying square guy finally died.

I wonder if the finale is going to be long as well since Amalockh has to be defeated and Fitz has to reunite with his family. Maybe it'll just end ambiguously.

Why did Golden Joe "forget" that he could teleport? He seemed rather odd in this episode.

When exactly did this show turn good?

I really liked this one and am surprised to want to see how it all ends.

Good question. I watched the first few episodes of season one, and I'll admit, I did not like them. Then I watched about two episodes of season two, and now when I look back at season one I love it. I guess the show turned good when it became really apparent that there was some kind of plot.

Last year, this time, I never thought I'd be saying this, but today 12 Oz. Mouse is one of my all time favorite Adult Swim shows.

You know, I'd really like to brag right now about how I liked this show from the beginning, but I honestly didn't. After I saw the early premiere in summer of '05 I hated it, and continued to after the real premiere:

That was my opinion about this time last year. But after seeing episode 3, specifically the "Skillet Torture Dance", it was so perfectly David Lynch-esque that it sucked me into watching, and by the end of episode 4 ("Now spin it"), I was hooked. So, I liked it before it was cool, but not from the very beginning.

I liked it from the beginning. The first episode got a bit "What the ****?" but so has the rest of the series. I liked the first episode, I was just sort of confused. I started to really like it around episodes two and three.

Honestly, this thing would fit in with anime night on AS, simply because it's more serious than the rest of the shows it plays with. When someone can actually make you feel bad for characters drawn like that, you know they've actually done some homework. When Peanut dude is dead sober and actually frowning for once in his life after what happened to Skillet....that shouldn't make you get emotional, but man...:(

I liked it since the beginning. The first couple of episodes made me laugh hard at the sheer ridiculousness of it all, but the developments from the third episode on have caused me to stick with it for the long haul.

Peanut Cop was really great in that scene. I think it was one of the sweetest scenes to ever come out of an Adult Swim original.

Right around, "Can I help you?", "Can I help you?".

I'm still crossing my fingers that Matt gets to create another show with as much creative freedom as he enjoyed with ozmo.

I also just started watching Ozmo again after giving up on it after the first couple of episodes, so I'm curious -- what episode(s) made it clear that there was an overarching plot? The first two episodes barely hinted at any storyline to hinge them together, from what I remember.

There are some bits and pieces in the third episode that hint at it, but somewhere around the 6th episode is where things start coming together. That's if I can remember right.

Actually, the very beginning of episode 2 continues directly from the end of episode 1. At the end of 1, Shark hires Mouse to do a job for the Eye, and Mouse meets the Eye. Then at the beginning of episode 2, Mouse and Eye are in the diner discussing the money that Golden Joe owes to the Eye.

I would say aproximately episode 6.
The first episode was complete nonsense. It introduced the main characters, connected with the second episode at the end, but the only point of the episode was to show mouse likes to drink alot and wreck things.

You gradually began to get the idea that Shark is running something sinister with the RBM, but I thought if anything the "plot" was just an excuse to string episodes together. I thought the non-sensicality was the point, not the bare bones connection between the ep's. (I mean there was a whole episode about peanut cops high nonsense)

6 was where the main characters got together and united towards a common goal for the first time. The majority of the episodes (exception being the song ep) have continued to focus on the plot.

So yeah-I can take the nonsensicality alot more if it's building towards something

(btw I think the finale doesn't actually conclude with anything. I think amalock dies in a massive amount of explosive violence, then Matt throws one final mind-**** at the end)
