I wouldn't return to the house until the tree was gone and the place had been swept for bats. I hate bats (and most birds).

What can i say? i can't control those darn bats in my cave. i mean have you seen the size of that place? they could be hidden anywhere on the ceiling! At least I wasnt the one stuck in that tree, but even if i was, i'm too silent to be spotted :p

Kinda reminds me of the squirrel scene from Christmas Vacation. "Squirrel!!!!" :D
One time during Christmas, up at my aunt and uncle's place in Oregon, we found a bat in the wood stove, which we were using at the time. The bat had gotten in through the stack and, somehow, managed to avoid the flames and found a perch near one corner. My mom spotted it while putting some logs in, so my uncle grabbed some heavy duty gloves, reached in and caught it, then took it outside and let it go.

Sorry. Looks like RoadRunner.com changed the headlines again (the bat article was yesterday's). I found another link from News 5 on it, if it will help:http://www.nbc5.com/news/10469414/detail.html?rss=chi&psp=news

Can't read the article, but the description of it reminds of Batman Returns. Classic.

You would think the farm would tell the owner about the tree been checked for bats. Then agian, you don't really check the history of a tree before you buy it.

I think I would freak out if I found a bat chilling out on my wall some morning. Creepy.

In science my teacher told me that (and this applies to those living on the east coast) if you find a bat in your room one morning, get checked for rabies. Apparently a type of bat leaves no mark or pain, and causes rabies.

That's just an urban legend.
You're more likely to get rabies from a dog than a bat.
