Classic rock all the way. If it didn't take up so much space, I'd post my Top 300 Favorite Songs list.

Overall, I prefer upbeat, and happy music. Thusly, my favorites are made up of a wide variety of genres including EuroDance (or Trance), 80s synth-pop, 60s oldies, some late 90s/early 00s pop, Cuddlecore (or Twee), EuroPop, and EuroBeat (or Hyper Happy). I also enjoy the Pokemon soundtracks.

Some of my favorite artists and groups are ABBA, Ace of Base, Kylie Minogue, Belinda Carlisle, DJ Sammy, Yes, The Bangles, The Association, S Club 7, 4 Strings and Cascada.

I like basically anything that sounds good, and it could be any type of music. I've been listening to classic rock mostly these days though. My local rock station switched to an all-talk format at the beginning of the year and they only play music on weekends, so it's not really the same anymore.

My favorite bands are of entirely different genres, so it's hard for me to say... I mostly just listen to Industrial Metal ATM, but since my favorite band is Pink Floyd, I still listen to Progressive/Classic Rock as well.

I have abandoned radio and continue to listen to video game music. I can't listen to it outside of my headset as it will irritate family, friends, and passerby.

And symphonic video game music= TEH WIN!

AOLRadio (http://music.aol.com/radioguide/bb.adp) is your friend.

Final Fantasy gets its own station and there's a station for the rest.

Although I really wish they'd quit playing FFVIII's main theme over and over.

This was back in 1996, but I had this video game music CD with me at school. I lent it to someone and I was getting it back from him. This one guy wanted to see what it was, and I showed it, and he just laughed a little. Then later on he told me he wouldn't have wasted his money on something like that.

Video game music, mostly. I guess when video games play a big part of your childhood, the music just stays with you.

Outside of that, I love myself some good electronic/techno music. Something fun and upbeat.

Rock is generally good, depending on the subject matter. I like ska, also.

I've got MELLOW GOLD, ODELAY and GUERO. I don't care for ODELAY as much as most people, but I think MELLOW GOLD is really good and GUERO is top notch. I've heard his other stuff, but never bought it. I'd lik to get SEA CHANGE (I think. It's the album where he sounds depressed.) at some point, but I'm not too high on MUTATIONS, MIDNITE VULTURES or his album before MELLOW GOLD.

Have you heard GUERITO or whatever the GUERO remix album is called? I'm kinda interested in hearing what El-P did, but truthfully the strength of Beck (at least to me) has always been the production more than vocals, so a remix album seems kinda pointless.

*Edit: I've got all his studio stuff, but I only own the CDs of the three I mentioned.

Power metal>all other types of music. Unless of course you throw symphonic or progressive in the mix. My favorite artists/bands include Luca Turilli, Kamelot, and Helloween.

If you haven't heard of it, you'd best try to get a sample some time soon. Good stuff.

I'm mainly into metal, rock, and ska. And I'm kind of tired of people saying "everything" to this question. It is impossible for someone to be into EVERYTHING in this world.

Some of my favorite groups are Disturbed, Reel Big Fish, Latterman, Dropkick Murphy's, and Goldfinger. Now that's what I call great music. I also sometimes listen to Crush 40(Can't help it, I loved their songs in the Sonic Adventure games) and Drowning Pool.

Marklar

Latterman's a damn fine band.

I myself am into punk rock and it's various off-shoots, though I don't tend to enjoy metalcore, mallcore, fashioncore, or really any other -core music other than early '80s style hardcore. Also pretty big into reggae and traditional ska, i.e. not crappy punk-pop with the occassional horn blast. If you enjoy ska but are sadly unfamiliar with its true roots, I suggest The Skatalites and modern traditional bands like Hepcat, The Slackers, and Westbound Train.

I judge music artist by artist. Album by album. Song by song. You're doing yourself a real diservice by throwing an entire genre or style underneath the bus.

I'd agree with that. I have a playlist on my iTunes just for songs that I like that don't fit into the bigger genres I like. In there I have a little country, a little rap, a little techno and dance, and other stuff that doesn't fit in Anime, J-pop/Rock, Pop, or Rock.

Mostly the various genres, sub-genres and sub-sub-genres of rock and/or roll. Not much into "modern" rock, bands liek Nickleback, but otherwise I'm a rocker. I've dabbled a bit in otehr stuff from time to time, but rock is my choice most of the time.

I like anything that has a good beat and is great to turn up the volume to on the radio. But I mainly like Classic rock, Country, most of todays music like Dave Matthews or Matchbox Twenty, and music from the movies. And yes I do turn up Country music on the radio, yes I am odd.

Whatever, man. I listen to whatever. If it's different, they got talent, and it's got either good rhymes or melody, I'm golden. Like someone else said, I just music artist by artist.

Even though lately it's only been Boards of Canada and hip-hop.

I prefer 70s/80s prog-rock (Jethro Tull, Yes, Genesis, Styx, etc.)...

Although I do also like a little bit of more recent pop-rock (not the uber-popular stuff, but the more quirky/obscure acts, such as B*Witched and Andrew W.K. for example).

I will listen to any genre, save for rap, opera, and heavy metal - though there may be the occasional song I like despite this.

I do, however, mostly enjoy:

Jpop (Morning Musume, Perfume, etc.)

Movie scores (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Finding Nemo, etc.)

New Age (Enya, Celtic Woman, etc.)

Big Band ("Ol' Blue Eyes," Michael Buble, Barry Manilow, etc.)

80's (especially the campy stuff, like Huey Lewis)
