We have a two hour ice delay for school wich is normally a good thing, but since my mom already woke me up and yelled and screamed at me to get up, how I am "going to miss the bus" and whatever. That's why I'm mad

I feel better now knowing that the announcement wasn't made until 45 minuets before school so all the teachers got to school and had to wait for two hours and it wasn't just my problem.

How are you late for school if it has been pushed back?

You know, I'd be celebrating if I got to go to school two hours later.
Think of all the constructive things you could do during your 2 hour break.

Man, when are we gonna have some winter weather down here in Georgia? I'd love to atleast have a delay one time this year. Last time we got out of school down here for ice/snow was nearly three years ago.

Back when I lived in Georgia I actually liked the winter weather... now that I live where we actually have winter, not so much. I missed when a dusting would cancel school. Now even if it's too cold for buses to run, we still have to go. Meh.

2 hour delay? What the heck? here it is either a snow day or not. not inbetween

Well, if we even get like 1/8th of an inch, and sticks, everything shuts down. If it's cold, well... it's slightly different. It was like 12 degrees; some schools got a 2 hour delay, elementary school got the day off, and HS? Well, we had to go.
It was just not a good day to be at an open campus school.

umm. where do you live? 1/8th of an inch is ridiculos to cancel school for.

Ok, maybe I was exaggerating on the 1/8th bit, but I think it's like if we get a quarter or something and it sticks, things shut down.
I live in Central Alabama-ish. It's because any type of winter weather is rare; when it does happen, everyone freaks out.

Man, I miss that.

Even where I live in Southern Virginia, near the line with North Carolina, a tiny dusting of snow seems to shut the city down. And if there's a little bit on the road, watch out, because people instantly start driving like maniacs.
We get a lot of icestorms, here, too, and people act like they're no big deal. Once I walked outside and my car was coated with ice, like a big M&M. My boss still expected me to go to work so I got a neighbor to help me chisel it out. I'd much rather have snow than an icestorm.

i live in florida... i look forward to hurricanes to cancel school, then again there is a possibility of it destroying this hundred year old building we know to be Plant Hall. but what's cool is that even if we are on the edge of the projected path they still end up canceling classes for like 3 days until the hurricane disappears. guess they dont want to take any chances. heck, i'm not complaining :p
