Okay I've heard a lot of Fishing stories before but this one takes the cake.

Here's a real news story about a kid and a couple of his friends out fishing at a river and in this case the kid on his very first cast (Ever) lands what i call.... "the mother of all catfish".

According to the report:

When Carl Smith hooked his first catfish, it took two friends to hold him back as the 226lb (102kg), 8ft (2.4m) monster tried to turn the tables and instead drag him into the River Ebro in Spain.

Now a lot of folks would just say this is one of those "Big ones that got away" stories.. but the truth is in the picture.. this 226 pound 'freak of nature' is ending up on the guy's oven tonight...

so who wants to bring the tartar sauce and eat some fresh Catfish ..(Yum!)

(and you thought 'Turkey overkill' was bad). well... this is another story..)

So who wants to take a nibble at this story? I hope some of you can digest it.

Your thoughts?

If you thought that one in Spain was big, take a look at this monster from Northern Thailand:

Yes, It's another freshwater catfish and this one is the largest one in the world. This one was netted in the Mekong River in northern Thailand, in May 2005, and this baby weighs in at a whopping 646 pounds (293 kilograms). This 9 foot (2.7 Meter) long catfish is perhaps the mother to the one found in Spain. but still it's a suprise that we're finding large fish this big.

Scientists say the fish, which belongs to the species known as the Mekong giant catfish, may be the largest freshwater fish ever recorded.

and to think of all the catfishsticks you could make outta this one!
