Trinity Blood Essay #18

In "The Ibelis Part I: Evening Visitors", Trinity Blood shows once again that in a series, you simply cannot have enough two-parter episodes. Besides working from a business perspective (as it keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat for a whole week), the two-parter uses the episodic nature of television to... (more)

I don't know if anyone else is having trouble, but I am having trouble watching it. The first half plays, just fine, and then it says "loading" and that is when everything stops.

Abel laying the smack down FTW. Put you in your place, girlie. He reminds me of Spider-Man almost, with his goofy demeanor just a front to keep his enemies off balance.

Me: Man, someone should smack Ester for being annoying.

*later*

Me: This episode is awesome.

Ironically, it got kinda boring after the slap.

I dunno what's more funny, Abel slapping some sense into Esther, or Esther trying to be a macho AX member with a machine gun, yet still keeping that adorable look on her face.

FINALLY, after three days of watching nothing but sports!

Gunslinger continues to rock.

Is this FMA? I keep hearing Alphonse.

Way to go, Esther. >:P

And...Abel's still a dork.

Gee, is it a sin to slap a nun?

Someone should write a rap song about slapping nuns. Sure, you always hear rap lyrics about slapping hos, but anyone can slap a ho. It takes a real man to slap a nun.

Slapping Nuns is fun.

Now this is just getting stupid. The vampire kid wasn't attacked because of some fire at the Vatican, he was attacked because he broke into the Head Sisters quarters and had physically assaulted her! He had her in a friggin hammer lock when Gunslinger came in, fer crissakes! And nobody bothers to acknowledge this? Pft. Ridiculous.

It's about time Ester got some learning. Her problems began with assassinating someone on her own. She really doesn't learn from mistakes.

He kept going on 'how dAre they" after breaking in and acting like an assassin. He's never heard of a white flag? And he kept cussing "Gunslinger" as "Terran". What, the Laser eye didn't say he was dealing with a program? But that's a minor point.

I also didn't like the guy trying to kill Able in a "Holy duel". Crimany he's on the same side. You can't just kill him because he's in the way. It's why I don't llke anime (or anyone else) using Christian religion. They just use the parts they want.

More than likely he's after his own agenda that differs from our heroes, and he knows deep down that Abel's against him. The only stupid thing was to keep his soldiers there instead of sending them ahead while he took care of Abel (but I guess that was the warrior's pride in him).

So, Sister Esther's been at the Vatican for five months now? Time flies when the show has barely kept interesting since she got there...

So let me get this straight... the Empire hates the Terrans, yet wants to establish a working relationship with each other. Unless you're a lower-class member of the Empire, who hate the Terrans and just want to see them dead. Great... a win-win situation for the Vatican.

Back to Esther for a second, who apparently has learned how to be on the offensive with guns in the past five months, yet she still hasn't learned that violence is not the first and best solution to every problem. She probably deserved... no, forget probably, she DID deserve to get slapped by Abel.

There's also something to be said when the Knight of Annihilation goes the whole 'I am holier than thou, everything I do is by God's will' on Father Nightroad, who continues to subscribe to his own philosophy... 'I don't want to hurt you.' I fail to see how dancing around serves as a time-staller.

That being said... he fell off that cliff rather easily, didn't he?

"The Ibelis, Part 1: Evening Visitors": 7.5/10.

How did it NOT buy time? He occupied the enemies' time by dodging all the blows, and even if he boss sent away all his troops to find them, they're just foot soldiers. Abel wanted to buy as much time as possible, and by dodging endlessly, he succeeded in doing that. Sure, he probably could have killed them all easily by going all uber, but that would have caused more problems later on.

You guys are really hard on this poor show. Everyone keeps saying it's not interesting, or you don't care about the plot or characters or whatever. So why are you still watching it?

Gunslinger.

...And the (vein) hope that they will do something cool/not-incredibly-stupid with the concept, (Vatican vs Vampires) which is kinda cool.
