12 Oz. Mouse Essay #12
I am going to let The Myst have the opening threads for this week's C&C, but these dumb fake essay things took a good 15 minutes (though I was watching The Blues Brothers at the time) and subsequently I feel they should be included in the body of the thread, if not the opening. As for 12 Oz. Mouse, it... (more)

Awesome episode. I'm starting to think this show likes to give the impression that everything will eventually make sense but will never actually completely make sense. But you know what? That's OK with me, as long as the show is this cool.
First off, what was up with the non-linearity of the last 3 episodes? I mean, Producer Man arrived in the elevator at the end of ep. 15. Then in ep. 16 there was no indication of him. Now in ep. 17 he does arrive. However the beginning of 17 (Liquor telling Fitz "We'll do that soon...") follows directly from the end of 16, where Fitz holds up a gun and says "We'll kill him back." Even more puzzling, when we see Amalockh devour Pronto this week, the scene looks like a direct continuation of the scene from last week. However, in last week's episode, the graveyard scene was later followed by a scene of a giant Amalockh destroying the city. So how does that fit in? It's starting to look like time means nothing in this town (as I believe Roostre said back in #7). It's not exactly a surprise. There have been plenty of other cases earlier in the series of events that don't quite make sense in linear order.
It also occurs to me that this may explain the significance of the episode being titled "Eighteen" even though it's episode 17.
Recurring themes:
-Shark blows up most of the city, re-enacting the opening sequence.
-Asprind appears on Shark's TV.
-Shark as director: "Written and directed by Shark" is explicitly shown on the screen of "Shark's Great Movie"
-Meat Wars: Girl/Terminator hates bones. More evidence of the meat wars being "meat against bone"?
-Hovervacs and Tiebots are back and there are a lot of them!
"And now it begins." Can't wait til next week.

"Hand brain."
Poor Nugai. To be eaten by Shark is such a sad, sad fate. Here's hoping he somehow survives.
You could always use the following sequence:
1. Producer guy gets hand brain and enters the elevator, Mouse has those two dreams and gets some more meat to sleep.
2. Pronto awakens Amaloch, Mouse and Co. hear Amaloch. Mouse vows to kill him.
3. Amaloch eats Pronto and does the "Breakdance of Doom", Hand reaches Fitz.
4. Rectangle tells Shark about Amaloch's reappearance. Rectangle awakens the Tie Bots and the Hover Vacs. Fitz reaches the secret entrance.
5. Amaloch grows in size and starts destroying the city.
Eh, it could work.
I wonder if those hand signals in Hand's reply mean anything.
Also, Aspirind appears again.
As for the code at the end of the credits, it spells "Shark gets killed soon." Uh oh...

noso... soon
ledlik... killed
tegs... gets
khsar... shark
Oh... snap.
Wow... you can definately see how everything is coming together. I've stayed and laughed with this series since the beginning, and this whole season is really paying off for me. No episode has dissapointed this whole series.
Am I the only one pumped for the battle that will happen at the end? The bowties and hovervacs all activating really got my blood rushing.
5/5
Also.. I realize that even though I'm a huge fan, I don't know all aspects of the show.. so if anyone can clear it up for me, how did the 'cold phone' plot play off? I'm still trying to remember what it was about, but since I don't have any of the episodes downloaded, I'm kinda stuck.

I'm pretty sure they dropped that plot point after Rhoda said "You don't EVER want to get one." I suppose all it means is that Fitz is marked, or something to that effect.

I thought the cold phone was another one of Sharks instruments of fear like his televisions that deliver messages and his bugs and cameras. I just have this theory about Shark always being connected to the media. Then again, who knows?
I'm still waiting for the beeping blue bird to reappear.

So I'm guessing the final battle will be Corndroid vs Amaloch? Or will it really be something that simple?

I just figured the Terminator Woman would be involved in it as well.
