Metalocalypse Essay #666
As a play on the modern concept of "metal", "Metalocalypse" has its cake and eats it as well, making fun of the same metal conventions that it indulges in. As a play on celebrity culture, the show's fictional band Dethklok holds a godlike power over their large fanbase, an obvious reference to... (more)

This was a weaker episode. I still enjoyed it but they focused a little too much on Rockso and not enough on Dethklok themselves. I loved Murderface's sub-plot.

I liked that the whole band had at least a few great lines in this episode. Murderface.....is dumb. I'm starting to think that the manager just might be the most brutal of them all. He shows no mercy. He is all business.

Geesh, the rock 'n' roll clown is back.
Toki once again gives us his innocent side.
Who's the more brutal, the band or the guy who manages them?

They're equally brutal, the manager is simply smarter.

I think Toki is going to break the world record for fastest breakout character.

Apparently, HE DOES COCAAIINE!
I was laughing out loud every time he said that. This was a really good episode.

Rockso's outfit has me thinking that David Lee Roth must have had a garage sale.

Am I the only one who laughed at Rockso with his hand in Murderface's pants? Just wish I could make out what he whispered in his ear when he did it....
Anywho, I suspect that Dethklok's manager used to be on that nameless council. Just a feeling I have from how the general held up that photo of him.

He said "I do cocaine" :D
This episode was really funny, especially all the talk about 'free balling', it reminded me of a conversation I had with my buddies. And on that note, I gotta say, all the conversations feel really natural in this show, all the characters and their additudes are still in place, nothing feels unnatural or stupid.
The music video was the funniest part.

The past few weeks have been the best of the season. They're fleshing out the character's unique roles better. In the beginning it was mainly just a group of death metal musicians who eventually ruthlessly kill their fans. Now we have the slight hint that there may be a reason for the illuminati group following their moves and most amazingly no one actually died this episode.
Not to say it's great but it's finally gotten to the point where I think I'd be happy if it got another season, instead of being ambivialant about it.

Well, he is a parody of Roth. Even his song sounded like a Van Halen parody.
