MTV just recently annouced that they will indeed show the new Spider-Man: animated series on the 2002-2003 season. No animation studio was mention but it is rumored to be Mainframe. Brian Michael Bendis is also rumored to be invovled in the series as a writer. Variety said that Peter will be a college student working for the Daily Bungle as a web designer. The series might be a mixture of both the movie and Utilmate universes.

Universal supposely has picked up the rights for a Hulk: animated series. Hopefully it is better than other Universal animation productions such as the "Land Before Time" Series.

Call me a sentimental old fool, but I like the photographer angle better. Updating some aspects of a comic and making it into a show is fine (ie Smallville being set in 2001), but Peter being a web designer is just a little too current for me. But I suppose since it's MTV, it's to be expected. And if they do contract Mainframe to do the show, they better not stick their noses in the development and the story like Fox/Hasbro did with Beast Wars 3rd season and Beast Machines. They had also better plan on airing all the episodes they make, unlike what Fox did with Action Man. (as you can see, I have a slight problem with some of the decisions made over at Fox, and MTV's no better).
