Cross posting this from the Marvel Forum in hopes that someone here who doesn't go there might be able to help me:
I've been looking all over for an answer to this question, but so far no luck...so I'm trying here...
Hanna Barbarra's "Godzilla" series did an episode called "Island of Doom". The featured "villain" was an international terrorist organization with nuclear weapons and a high-tech army. You may have guessed it by now, but the group was called "Cobra". Nearly all the important Cobra Command "tropes" are present in a recognizable form.
This was several YEARS before GI:JOE came out.
Does anyone have any information on how this came to be, and if there were any legal problems as a result?
