Why is Cartoon Orbit being closed?
We considered many factors in making this difficult decision. While we are extremely proud of the world we created in Cartoon Orbit and tremendously grateful for the loyalty of our users, we believe the time has come to close Orbit so we can focus on creating an exciting new phase of content for CartoonNetwork.com.
What will happen to my cToons?
Once Cartoon Orbit closes down on October 16, you will no longer be able to access your cToons or your cZone.
Will I still be able to play gToons?
No. The gToons game and your gToon collection will no longer be accessible. However, we do hope to bring gToons back as a stand-alone game sometime in the future with new sets of game pieces to collect.
What is replacing Cartoon Orbit?
Right now, we are not planning any type of new trading-card community for CartoonNetwork.com that would replace Cartoon Orbit. However, the upcoming year promises many exciting announcements about the future of CartoonNetwork.com.
Is there any chance Cartoon Orbit will come back?
Unfortunately, no. As we said, this was a difficult decision, but we look forward to creating new ways to interact with your favorite Cartoon Network shows and characters.
Is there anywhere I can express my feelings about the closing of Orbit?
We welcome your comments about Orbit and this decision via our Feedback Form. On behalf of the Orbit staff and the entire CartoonNetwork.com team, we extend our sincere thanks for all of your support and feedback over the years, both through our site and the numerous online communities, fan clubs and message boards you've created independently. We never would have made it this far without you.

If this was around 4 years ago, I probably would've cared. CN basically ruined it for the past couple of years. I actually didn't even know it was still around.

While I haven't played it for a long time, I really enjoyed it back in the day. I'm sad to see it go, but I think it was time. The last time I was on there the prices had been getting insane. Although I do feel sorry for the people who had been playing since day one, after all the time they invested in there it must stink to just have it dissapear.

I remember playing on there back then. While, I don't care for it nowadays, I do feel sorry for those that have been with it since day one and are going to lose all thier things they have collected overtime. In a way though. I'm not surprised since we haven't seen anything new Cartoon Orbit related in quite a while

Cartoon Orbit? Was it some CN Forum or something? I have a vague memory of it, but since I haven't gone to Cartoon Network in years ( I stopped since they did that thing where you have to pay to play most games. ) so please refresh my memory.

It is/was sorta a digital trading card game.
I remember joining CartoonOrbit way back in the beginning. Remember getting Lockdown cToons as well as a whole bunch of Justice League cToons as well. gToons was pretty fun too, but I didn't play it all that much.
I had no clue either of them were still around. I thought they were canned years ago.

Ah. I remember those!:) I haven't heard about them for years, so I, like Duke, thought it was already canned.

I've been a member of Cartoon Orbit almost since the beginning, and I am very sad to see it go. I believe I have over three hundred cToons/gToons, ranging from Dragon Ball Z, Justice League, Toonami, etc. Although I stopped "buying" cToons long ago, I would occasionally auction off the cToons that I had purchased for the sake of selling later. For most of my time of Orbit, I was in the twenty thousand-thirty thousand-point range, but with the help of my auctioning, I made it into the hundreds of thousands. I regret that I have not collected all the cToons that I wanted, and I believe that I will miss this more than most people, even as an adult. I liked to rearrange my cZone quite frequently, creating new super hero and super villain teams to battle each other using different characters from different shows. I guess it's time for one last run. I suppose I'll arrange my cToons differently everyday for the last six days that I can. I will miss them and Cartoon Orbit. It was like a toy box that I never had to clean up. I wish there was some way all of us Orbiters could print out our collections.
RIP Cartoon Orbit and May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest:(

I think I'm gonna miss it too, especially all my Samurai Jack and Impossibles cToons and gToons, and all the auctions.
I, too, wish they'd let us print our favorite cToons on that "Thank You" certificate. The ones they have are NOT any of my favorites.
Goodbye, Orbit.:crying:

Started one, but the CN-Makes-It-For-You screenname was so stupidly hard to remember I never played it.
So y'know, I have no feeling about Orbit.

I just finished going through my inventory of various Cartoon Orbit cToons, gToons, cRings, Super cToons, etc, and I found that I may have been a bit short when I said that I had about three hundred. I have ended my collection with 558 various Toons. The list takes up thirteen Microsoft Word pages. That's just insane, and it's making me miss Cartoon Orbit even more.

My username is from that. Slap on a Major and there we go. Bear in mind this was for kids or rather something a lot of kids would use. To prevent a whole variety of "bad" words, including but not limited to clever references to sex, racist, and swear words, would either require a massive moderation network, or this simple solution. What do you think CN choose.
As for the whole Orbit thing, the story of my life. I joined the thing recently because my it wouldn't let me connect from my home country, and who do you know, shortly afterwards they cancel it.

Wow I joined 9-11-01. Now I know what I was up to that day.
I'm really quite pissed that I didn't get to print my collection or anything. I spent so much time for the past 5 years working on my Orbit collection. I never stopped playing, and, apparently, I should have.

I wouldn't mind seeing it.
I'll probably post a Photobucket link in my signature sometime in the upcoming weeks.
And, since I had all the Bo-bobo and Naruto cToons, I'll post those in their respective talkbacks the next time we have them.
