Anyone know how many issues this book ran? I know, I know, it's not the best Spidey stuff ever done, but I'm kinda intrested in picking up the series but wasn't sure as to how many issues were made... any help would be appreciated....

I'm pretty sure the series ran for five issues. I have issues #3 and #4. The art is pretty good, although the writing is somewhat lacking. The series was quickly cancelled when FOX initially pulled the series off the air for the first time.

Hehe, the comics lasted longer than the actual series. :D Possibly a first for a Marvel cartoon comic.

I believe the book ran for either 5 or 6 issues. I have all of them and can check. There was also a brief two parter the Webspinners Spidey book where Peter wears the Unlimited costume (one of the kewlest Spidey costumes - up there with Black costume and Spidey 2099).

It's weird how they tied that comics into Spider-Man Unlimited. Spider-Man Unlimite dis supposed to be based, somewhat, on the previous animated series. Yet Web-Spinners attempted to also make it mainstream.

Web-Spinners was cancelled with issue #18.

Thanks for the info... I picked up issue 5, I thought the cover was pretty cool- the CounterEart Wolverine looked pretty awesome. The art in the book was very well done, the story was just too darn short...

At first I thought you guys were talking about the original/regular Spider-man Unlimited series which is not based on the cartoon...

the original series had some of the best stories written for Spider-man and I do believe Maximum Carnage started in Spider-man Unlimited #1 from the 90s...

Yup, that's the first Spider-Man Unlimited. It was cancelled with issue, I wanna say 14, but it may have made it into the 20s. I know it didn't make it long after that.

My problem with the book was that it was, at one point $4 US and it was a mostly pointless book. We didn't need it. Just like Superman: The Man of Tomorrow or Batman Chronicles. These books were adding yet another title to characters that have too many books as it is.

So while the book had some good stories, I'm glad it was put to pasture.

don't even get me started on the number of X-books out there/on the way... :(

Ok I looked it up at home, there was only 5 issues of the cartoon series Spider-Man Unlimited book. The issues of Webspinners where he dons the costume is #13-14. There is also one more issue that will complete the set - Spider-Man Unlimited #1/2. This was a Wizard Exclusive back when the show was just starting. That's all the appearences I know of for Spidey Unlimited.

Speaking of pointless X-Men titles, I wonder why the heck X-Men Unlimited is still around. Is serves no purpose at all. Granted Marvel says that the title provides a change to "see characters who aren't in the regular titles". I really don't see this title to be worth the $3 cover charge.

That's because it isn't worth the $3 price of admission. Heck, I don't think a lot of the X-titles are worth what they are charging these days. For one I don't think Morrission is even close to writing his best stuff and Quietly is just not the right artist for New X-Men. Casey might be getting some help in the form of Ron Garney but I'm not sure that even that will be enough to pick up from what I consider some of the lack-luster stories that have been produced lately. X-Corps looks like it has some potential and the new X-Force book could be great but I haven't been able to pick up Uncanny or New X-Men recently. I don't know how everyone else feels but that's my two cents worth.

New X-Men is definatly worth the price of admisison. It is a great title and a great new take on the X-Men Morrison was able to take a rathar cliched idea (long lost twin) and turn it into one helluva massive threat for the X-Men. Uncanny X-Men has been a bit iffy so far. Casey's first issue was pretty goof, as was #399, but the others were mediocre or poor. UNCANNY #400 was interesting, though. X-Force is amazing. Just..amazing...it's awesome.

That's my couple cents. :)
