Wow. That actually wasn't good. Ditto :ack: IMO a new all time low for a episode of this show.

After all these years, Cree Summer reprises her role as Penny.

The Inspector Gadget sketch with Cree Summer and Frank Welker makes this an instant winner.
EDIT- I just realized something, two sketches in a row about retarded people, how original.

I liked the Pumpkin sketch and the Inspector Gadget/Terminator sketch, but everything else sucked.

That was about 5 retard jokes too many for this show.
The psychotic little girl reminded me of Elmyra from Tiny Toons (probably the fact Cree Summer voiced both).
Pretty poor overall episode-the inspector gadget sketch was the only one that approached clever humor.
1.5/5

What exactly makes this show so popular? This is another in a long line of Robot Chicken episodes that is merely so-so. I can think of plenty of better shows on Adult Swim that should get Chicken ratings.
Of course though, this show isn't quite as bad as stuff like Minoriteam, but it's not great either. It astounds me that so many people watch this of all AS shows.
What exactly makes this show so popular?
Pop-culture references. It's taking what the average Joe likes most about Family Guy and making an 11 minute show about nothing but pop culture.

I'm amazed they got the original voice of Penny and Dr. Claw for the Inspector Gadget skit.

The Fanta parody and Robot Chicken sellouts were the best parts, but it wasn't much of anything other than that. Does anyone recall the name of that guy who gives Gadget his notes and then gets on the wrong end of the explosion? I really liked that part of tonight's show.

Anyways, here's what I liked in tonight's episode:
-Robot Chicken feminine products
-The Fanta parody
-E.T. flipping the bird
-Inspector Gadget as the Terminator (with Dr. Claw stealing the bit with him discovering that Mad Cat is dying)

Good stuff: Inspector Gadget/Terminator parody, especially since I have so many fond memories of the show.
Neutral: Fantanas stop the Middle East peace treaty; ET returns home.
Bad stuff: Crapping in pumpkins; Pegasus being mutilated by the little girl.
Pretty much ran all over the place, this episode did. And what's up with the recurring theme on retards?
6.5 out of 10 for "Adoption's an Option."

Dr. Claw and the cat scene was just freak'n ownage. Especially that tag on ending. Robot Chicken selling out was funny as well. Overall though... not as good as the ones earlier this year but not bad by any means.

FTW!
Inspector Gadget = awesome.
Next week? Weird Al's 'Weasel Stomping Day' becomes a sketch!
And about a third of the episode!
Am I one of the few here that just hated this episode?
Besides the spaceship gag (seemed like it was taken from Wonder Showzen, just how it felt) and the part in the Inspector Gaget gag where Penny says "I'm too young to have a driver's license, you drive, you're a dog", I didn't enjoy it.
It's not that I don't 'get it', since this is the era I grew up in that they are parodying, it just feels like the jokes are too easy and the writing is shallow.
2/5 for this episode.

it was worth while for the inspector gadget/ terminatior parody... i enjoyed it much because gadget was my show when i was like 4 and 5 years old.
the ending was just great:
kid: "give me 4 dollors for the picture, or my father would beat me"
<kick to the face>
penny: "go go gadget foot" LOL PWNAGE:lol: :D
i did like the ET/ Alien parody where they put ET on the Alien planet and he says "... frieeeeeeeeennnnddd..." and they make fun of ET for being the "retarded" one and he flips them off.

Big fan of the series but this ep would not be my favorite.
It seems each episode is getting progressivley dark and sadistic. I don't see the humor in Pegasus being mutilated and Claw's cat having feline leukemia. If those characters had somehow been set up to "deserve" a cruel fate, that at least would be something. But instead the mutilation and the cancer are the jokes.
Part of the appeal of the show for me has been the use of existing toys, and seeing if I could identify what's being used. "Hey, that's the Mego Scotty head", etc. They're getting a little bit away from that by using completely original sculpts/constructs more frequently this season, which is a little less fun.
