What's with the movie reference that has nothing to do with the episode?
Sabat as an android or robot, whichever he was being, can be quiet scary. He did a good job sounding monotonous, but man was he ruthless. The Vampire Father though truly showed that he cares for all living creatures, which is ironic since he's a vampire. The first episode hooked me to the series, but I honestly did not think this was a good follow-up except for the introduction of the rest of the team.

He's looking up episode titles on IMDB and seeing if there are movies with the same title or similar title.
Also, it's a joke.

Now these are the kind of episodes that get me hooked on series. Why? because of the characterization and emotional levels this show can have. Now, all we need is a good plot. The little girl storyline was awesome, it was pretty depressing to, but what an incredible power, it's like a double-edged sword.
One thing I dont like...
Whenever he is in a jam, he just activates his powers, kinda cheezy in a way but it makes sense.

This show doesn't seem to understand what its trying to be. And the characters speak too quietly often...

Stuff was happening on the screen and I didn't care. That's a bad sign.

Was I the only one who thought the pilot from the first episode was going to be a main character? I guess I was wrong. I guess I shouldn't expect this girl to be back next episode either...

Low budget yet absolutely kickass movie with lots of gun-fu.
By the way, this show- horrificially bad. Hellsing Ultimate, simply by the first episode, is set to run this thing over in quality.

Hmm, seems to be following a "monster/problem of the week" format so far. Not that there's anything wrong with that, as long as they do it well. I really got a kick out of the scene when the android was pointing his gun at the two in the end, because I was jokingly thinking "don't tell me this robot ends up having a heart of gold and won't shoot", and at that moment, he pretended he had no ammo. Would've been hilarious if he proved me wrong and actually shot them.

Yeah pretty much. a 2 parter is next so hopefully it will get into more of a plot.
Still not seeing how this is worse than WHR or WR. it's neither convoluted nor got a depressed main charachter nor redicuoulsy monotonous/boring nor failing to explain its premise and world around it so people aren`t totally lost.(things both those shows did)
It may not be perfect, but at the very least, it is watchable.

I actually really liked this episode, I was suprised that the first episode had nothing at all to do with the second episode. Next week the actual plot starts a bit I guess. Anyway Tres is awesome :D

I missed the first episode which everyone seemed to like, so whoops I guess.
But this was silly. It jumped between moods without any kind of flow (cutesythrillingBATTLEcutesyTENSIONcomedicreliefEXPOSITION), the dialogue was...yeah, even the music cues felt way overdone. And I can't get on-board with the whole Trigun vibe because I never liked Trigun.
I suppose I'll give it another shot or two because hey why not

Hmm, I wonder if the fact that I liked WHR has to do with the fact that I'm liking Trinity Blood so far...
I was expecting the girl from the last episode to at least be in this episode, but that was not to be. Sabat android was pretty much awesome. Loved how he pretended he had no ammo at the end, only to shoot the drained vampire (which, btw, was disgusting). I got something of a morbid laugh at the girl running to hug Abel when he had blood splattered on his face. It was a nice moment, but the blood on his face just made me laugh.
Considering how this episode had nothing to do with the first one, I'm definitely looking forward to getting a plot line going soon.

I think it's a pretty cool series, from what I've seen so far. Abel is a likeable enough main character (in a Vash kind of way from Trigun, of course), and I do like how he's able to switch from being a humble, bumbling man of God to a ruthless Kresnik who shows Vampires no mercy.
I do think that it's a series that builds gradually into its main storyline, but once it does, it takes off...

He said in the first episode he wasn't a vampire or a human but something more.
Plus he seem to have nanomachines in his body, since he used them to activate his power. I was bit surprised by an android being in this show. I thought it was gonna be human vs vampires kind of show. Anyway I enjoy the episode.

So, that vampire was walking outside in daylight. I've noticed vampires in Hellsing doing the same thing. Do Japanese vampires just not have a weakness to sunlight? The whole "vampires have a weakness to sunlight" thing is more of a device that's used in modern fiction vampire stories. Early vampire legends (which is usually used when some anime/manga writers create vampire characters) don't state that sunlight can kill a vampire. Heck, in the original story Dracula, the title character was able to walk around in the daylight.

Equilibrium is a word that Merriam Webster's online dictionary defines as 1 a : a state of intellectual or emotional balance : POISE (http://merriamwebster.com/dictionary/poise) <trying to recover his equilibrium> b : a state of adjustment between opposing or divergent influences or elements
2 : a state of balance between opposing forces or actions that is either static (as in a body acted on by forces whose resultant is zero) or dynamic (as in a reversible chemical reaction when the rates of reaction in both directions are equal)
3 : BALANCE (http://merriamwebster.com/dictionary/balance+)6a.

I was disappointed this week. After vampires, witch stories don't interest me. I was hoping for more details on the main character, but oh well there is always next week.
Last week I couldn't recognize any of the voice actors. This week I only recognized Christopher Sabat. I like this. I'm constantly tired of hearing the same voices for characters on different shows (Blum is good, but why does he have to be on nearly every anime?) You're doing a great job, Funimation. I just hope the show itself gets better.

Bleh this was boring, the characters were boring, even the backgrounds were boring
and I liked Witch hunter Robin
Also what the hell was up with the Robot and his crazy stupid ways of holding his guns, one right side up and in the other hand the exact same type of gun is upside down. It's not really that hard to hold them the same way and still hit the target, infact in essence it's far more practical. But lets overcomplicate the simplest of actions in a last ditch attempt to look cool so we can hide the lack of plot and story progression.
I think the most colorful thing I saw in this episode was the firetruck red brickwall that was seen for the sum total of 10 seconds, everything else was gray, seaweed green, brown, black, or white
USE MORE COLOR PALLETTES, POST ARMAGEDDON SETTINGS DO HAVE MORE COLORS THAN WHAT YOU SEE IN A TRUCKSTOP BATHROOM!
Also we still don't know what this show is about considering the past two episodes have been one-shot deals and not linking to anything.

that's because the vampires in Hellsing aren't real vampires, except for Alucard and Ceres. seems to be same thing with Trinity Blood from the way Abel explains it.

Leave it to the Vatican to program a conscience into their killer robot...
I actually enjoyed this episdoe better than the pilot. Mainly thanks to the android. He had some great lines, and Sabat did a great job with them... And plot twist was better than last weeks. I got a chuckle out of the real nun being cubby, rather than the standard anime-babe (as was first shown).

I like the part where they rip off Equilibrium.
Glad I'm not the only one who thought that. I think the android was literally ripped out of that movie and had all of his blood and organs replaced with wires and circuits.
Meh...this was a mildly entertaining episode at some points, and I definitely want to keep watching, but this wasn't as good as last weeks.

I have to agree with Crash here: Last episode was very mediocre and hard to get into. This week's though was more interesting if only because of Abel connecting so easily to that girl and her eventually starting to trust him. And yeah the robot Priest had a pretty good scene at the end actually not shooting them down even though he was "ordered" to, though I do wonder when Abel's whole "vampire who hunts vampire" thing is turned against him. I guess it wouldn't be in the first few eps but that's something they can't play out forever. Anyway if more episodes were like this then this would be a pretty good episode, so I hope Episode 2 is more of an indicator of where this show is going then episode one was.
I'm thinking of rewatching this series just to figure out if I liked it or not. A few months ago, I plowed through the whole thing in a few days and left with a "meh" feeling.

Silver can shuts down the "vampires" weakness and abilities. A "vampire" just injects something like powdered silver and the "vampire" is just a normal human for a period og time. And yes later on it shown what sunlight does to a "vampire".

A cute little witchling, a trigger-calculating android voiced by Christopher Sabat, and Father Nightroad using his powers on that vampire (which I probably missed in Ep 1 due to falling asleep) aren't much to talk about, but it is enough to be my favorite of the three AS anime this week.
A guy can't live on disjointed action alone, though. I'm not into the characters (or would it be character) that much, and I don't care much for the plot. Another one here who'll voice that this show hasn't done anything to really grab me yet.
Still... 7 out of 10 for "Witch Hunt."

You know in both episodes so far the vampires have been in this radical group called "Fleurs du Mal", and both times they've mentioned a group called the "Rosencroits" as being the backing for this radical group of militant vampires. So it's not like they've been completely one-shot episodes.

Hmm. The Rosenkreutz. Rosicrucians gone evil, perhaps? Well, an apocalypse can do that to ya.
Anyway, it was a pleasant way to pass a half-hour. I like the Father Nightroad character, who reminds me of Vash in Trigun (who I also liked). So far, it's been like Tales of Trinity Blood, with hints of a deeper plot getting started. Not bad. (^_*)

But lets overcomplicate the simplest of actions in a last ditch attempt to look cool so we can hide the lack of plot and story progression.Holding the guns sideways like that is "gangsta" style, and has become very popular in those kind of movies. Yes, it looks cool. But it's useless for accuracy--but no one who holds his gun like that ever uses the sights, anyway. Consider the number of shots the android fired at Father Nightroad, missing him every time. And that was with laser aiming!
Premise no. 31 of anime action shows: people are faster than guns, and can always dodge bullets fired at them.
Did you notice also that guns evidently have bottomless magazines? Gunslinger must have fired more than 30 shots from each of his. Kind of reminds me of the old days in B-movie westerns, and the six-shooters that never needed to be reloaded.

Not as good as last week's, but still was the best premiere of the night. The begining of this ep was kinda eh, but it picked up after we found out the witch-girl had been kidnapped and the action started. It's following moster of the day as someone else has mentioned, but it hasn't been totally useless as we found out a little backround information. Still, once the plot becomes apperent, this show will get better.

Worse then the first episode, which was only "meh".
It just seems to be trying waaaay too hard to be cool. Why did the vampire the main character kill come back to life and jump through the window? The whole "I'm a robot so I speak very precisely and use numbers" thing is really cheesy too. Not to mention he's supposed to be such a hot shot, but when he's shooting at the main character earlier he just shoots the wall over and over.

I was curious about that as well. The problem is that I couldn't tell if Starfyre meant that lines had been cut from the dub vs the original or if they had seen the film version of this episode and something had been cut from that vs the TV version .

I'm liking this show. It ain't an instant classic, but its fun. And fun was something Wolfs Rain and Witch Hunter Robin had in very short supply. Very few shows have successfully managed to combine thoughtful character stories and mindless action well, but this hits the nail right on the head. Abel is a very likeable character, and the supporting cast in these episodes are able to get pretty well-rounded despite limited screentime. Also with the episodic style the series has been having so far, it could develop into almost a Kino's Journey-type showcase of all walks of human (/vampire/robot/supervampire) life. I'm not loosing sleep over Trinity Blood, but at the very least its one of the prettiest-looking shows on TV. A-

Really? I'm surpised by the reaction. I guess I'm in the minority who liked the second episode much better than the first. The first felt like Trigun with a bit of Hellsing at the end, this felt more like its own show. Though the Vampire lady in this one did remind me a bit too much of Lust from FMA in her design. The witch girl was cute, I'd like her as a regular character. Also, count me as someone who doesn't mind it being mostly mindless action, better than a show where they waste animation by only sitting around and talking.
(p.s. I like how people critisize anime for not being realistic... it's anime, of course it's not real!)

Sunlight, crosses and holy water are the Christian take on killing vampires. Japanese vampires do not follow the same rules in most cases a their American counterparts. Also this ep was alright.
I'm enjoying the series so far. Enough to get on DVD? No, not really. But the only current AS series I'd get on DVD are FMA, GitS, and Champloo (not counting Big O, Bebop, or Lupin since I already have them on DVD).
I will say that the series is reeling me in, unlike Bleach (which I'm watching mainly because I like the manga) and Eureka Seven (which I'm watching simply because it's on Adult Swim).

I'm afraid I'm going to have to join the faction which is currently feeling "meh" about this series. I like the look of it; the character designs are very attractive. But somehow, I spent both of the first two eps thinking "I've seen this done before. . .and I liked it better the first time." I mean I can see why people keep bringing up Hellsing and Trigun, but for me it just can't compare so far: sure it's got blood and vampires hunting vampires, but it has none of that dark edgyness which made Hellsing interesting. And yes, Abel is a bumbler, but he hasn't got that naturally goofy, kind-hearted, completely naive despite a dark past feel which made Vash such a wonderfully complex character. (Yes, I know this is only the second episode, but Vash was already revealing enough of his personality by the second episode to give me great expectations of what was to come; I'm just not getting that with Abel.)
To me, it seems like this show has yet to find its soul. It's currently just echoing other shows with the bits and pieces which made them successful, IMO. It remains to be seen whether it ever shuffles off the shackles of what others have done and presents an interesting story in its own right. I guess I'll just have to keep watching with an open mind and hoping for the best.
4/10 mostly for the character design and because the VAs are doing a pretty good job.
(BTW, I actually liked both Witch Hunter Robin and Wolf's Rain - WHR > WR - and WHR is my friend's all-time favorite anime. There are a few fans out there! ;) )
