In order to prevent duplicate threads from being created or different news being posted in different threads, this new thread will act as the official "She-Ra: Princess of Power" DVD news thread until the entire series is eventually release on DVD.

Starting off with some new news, TV Shows on DVD reports that Season One Volume One will feature new cover art. Here's the story (http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=6399).

This is a show I barely remember but would like to watch again. I know I watched it when I was little because I had a bunch of She-Ra figures. When the show started I was only two years old, so that explains why I can't remember it.

I still need to pick up the HE-MAN sets, and I'll eventually add SHE-RA to my collection as well. I know SHE-RA was designed to bring in a girl audience, but I enjoyed it just as much as HE-MAN and had many of the toys. I have fond memories of watching it with my mom, who would always like to try and spot Lucky in each episode.

I know what you mean about liking it, even though you're a guy. I'd even get it for completion sake. I also remember a boy in my second grade class who even collected the She-Ra toys.

While I'm thoroughly enjoying the He-Man sets, I'm even more excited to see the She-Ra season sets. Even though it was disappointing to see Filmation quit production on He-Man, they really hit their stride from the get-go with the movie/season-opener, The Secret of the Sword. Some of my favorite episodes are in this set, including the one I voted for in the "Best Of" set, The Price of Freedom.

I've been a long-time fan of He-Man.org (http://www.he-man.org/) and I'm really proud to see all of the hard work they've done in bringing He-Man and She-Ra back on DVD. A couple years ago, I would've never imagined the US would ever see an official domestic release of these series. So to Entertainment Rights, BCI, He-Man.org, Filmation, and everyone else that made this possible, I thank you.

Agreed.

I also still need to get the Season 2 boxsets of MOTU but I haven't had a chance to yet. Once I get them I will definitely pick up the She-Ra boxset.

3 sets I think: Season 1 Vol. 1, Season 1 Vol. 2, Season 2.

I got my set at Best Buy on Tuesday, and have watched four episodes so far. I can't wait to see the rest, because there's a lot of episodes I've been wanting to revisit. I haven't checked out the special features yet, but they do look awesome. There's two episode commentaries, a documentary, art cards, and a storyboard/episode side by side comparison of the first episode. The DVD-ROM features I usually don't look into, but the ones on this set look good: She-Ra series bible, Secret of the Sword comic, coloring book, and 5 episode scripts.

Has anyone else picked up this release? I hope it'll be on sale again as its unlikely I'll get to Best Buy before the sale price is over ($24.99 is a good price).

I only watched She-Ra as the "Secret of the Sword" 5 Parter, and I was more of a He-Man fan than a She-Ra fan, but I will definitely pick this set up. My 5 year old and 7 year old niece just LOVED watching my SoTS DVD with me this summer (and to my surprise my nephew also liked watching it. He loves my he-man dvds as well).

So, I'll pick up the set so my nieces and I can have something to enjoy together.

Well, $21.76 is an even better price when you use the sale code on deepdiscountdvd.com . :)

I don't know if there are any other places selling it at a lower price than that though.
