Story by: Katie Reedy
L.A. label Stones Throw has teamed up with Adult Swim to create a veritable banquet for fans of cheeky animation and underground hip-hop. The Chrome Children CD/DVD will feature a full-length Madlib/MF DOOM live performance and tracks from every artist on the Stones Throw roster, including the late J. Dilla, Peanut Butter Wolf and others. Moreover, Adult Swim will design the packaging of the double-disc collection and support the release with some animation shorts.
In support of its October 3 release, Madlib will embark on his first-ever national outing as part of a larger world tour. Accompanying him will be Peanut Butter Wolf, J. Rocc, Percee P, Oh No and D12 affiliate Guilty Simpson, who will guest at two shows. And, as a promotional deal, everyone who pre-orders Chrome Children before September 4 will be automatically entered to win the chance to be drawn into one of the three videos Adult Swim is making for Madlib, Madvillain and J. Dilla. No word, though, on whether they'll make the winner look like an anthropomorphic meatball.
