What-one-was-your-favorite?

Definently the first one. It seems to be a trend; the first ones are good, the sequels are lousy (in my opinion, at least....then again, I'm usually part of the minority).

This, though, doesn't apply to movies that were bad in the first place. If that happens, it usually means that the sequel is a piece of dung. {**cough****cough**scarymovie**cough****cough**)

The first one by a long shot...of course the only other one I've seen is the Christmas one.

Has anyone ever seen Beauty and the Beast on Broadway?? I really want to see that and want to know if its any good...

My family's planning it, next time it comes on Broadway. If you want, I can tell you about it after I see it. (that'd probably be to late, though.....schreck. :D )

Probably the first, though I remember Tim Curry's pipe organ in 'Enchanted Christmas' as being interesting.

Anyone seen the Imax version of the first one? I've seen things like Titanic and the Mummy Returns on Imax screens, but neither was formatted for it, looking just like a widescreen pic on tv... Beauty and the Beast looked cool, although the distance shots on the characters were a bit odd-looking.

BTW, the Imax presentation begins w/ "Circle Of Life" in said format. Lion King's hitting Imax theaters 1/1/03.

Man, once Disney finds a new way to make money, there's no stopping them!

Facile. L'original sera toujours le meilleur. :)

I have. Beauty and the Beast was never one of my favorite Disney movies (I'm a Little Mermaid fan, so I'm biased there... :p), but Broadway's Beauty and the Beast was the first musical I ever saw on stage and it was awesome. There's a lot more in it than the movie, dance sequences, new songs, added material for more characterization. It had great costumes and set designs and specatcular effects. I highly recommend this musical, it's one of my favorites that I've seen on stage. I've also seen Broadway's The Lion King, and I think Beauty and the Beast is much much better. :)

I have seen the IMAX special edition of B&B as well (amazing for a non-fan eh?). When I was a kid I never gave the movie much of a chance, mostly because I was a Little Mermaid fan, but after seeing the special edition I have a better appreciation for this film and understand now why it was the only animated film ever to be nominated for a Best Picture Oscar up to this date. The sequence that was deleted from the original release of B&B, "Human Again," by Ashman and Menken I really liked. I think it adds to the movie. :)

Thanks for the info...now I wanna see it even more! :p I wasn't really interested in it until I learned about some of the songs that are in it that aren't in the movie. I especially like the song "Home", which I've been singing at voice lessons and using for singing auditions for a while now... :) Anyway, I'm glad to know that its really good. I wouldn't mind seeing The Lion King either, since that is my favorite Disney movie.

I saw the IMAX version in Chicago yesterday, and wow! What a movie! It was the first time I'd seen it on the big screen in the first, place, and I was not disappointed! I'd seen it on VHS only (several times) and this was a wonderful experience. I have to say, though, that this format is very unforgiving to mistakes. You can see the slightest differences in line placement, perspective changes, and the like. Anything short of Disney feature animation would be hard pressed to make this format work for them.

By the way, the only ad trailer was for the IMAX version of The Lion King! Coming soon!
