Why are they calling this summer ... "Cartoon Network Yes"? Website (http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/promos/summer2006/)

Is it just so they can use Fred Fredburger saying, "yes"?

Anyone know?

So they can annoy the hell out of people.

It's their new slogan, so expect to see those bumpers over and over and over again for the next four months or so.

C'mon, people. They're great - just enjoy 'em while they last, until CN decides to do away with them and revert to another generic on-air design.

It's stuff like this that make me wonder why you all go around screaming that CN isn't as original as it used to be, only to then trash the one original thing they start doing.

Exactly.

All I wish is that they had picked a mascot that, you know, has appeared in more than one episode.

Though, Cheese has appeared in two episodes, and he's the secondary mascot.

I'm not saying that it's not "original". I was just asking why its called that? Is it suppose to stand for something? Usually summer promotion slogans have something to do with the season.

I don't exactly think they're calling the Cartoon Network Summer, or that it is their new slogan. The 'Yes' only appears after a promo for a new episode at 7pm ET on Monday - Thursday. So I would presume that 'Cartoon Network Yes!' is what they call/slogan of the Premieres every night.

I don't know the situation with the promos as the people who did the City BG animations are still doing half the animations, while another company is doing all the ones with the solid Red and Blue BG's [and the Now/Next Stuff I presume]. So we'll just have to see if these are special things for Summer, or not, but I doubt it since the style is being incorporated into the Now/Next thing. It's just weird that they have two styles of bumpers, they really need to decide on one, even though I really like them both.

They don't use it just for premieres. On Boomerang, they air longer versions of the bumps, and the they have a "Yes" at teh end of them. I think it's the new slogan.

Yes on Boomerang they are showing the one with Cheese (from Foster's) and he is playing with a toy (while making the noise of it) and then says "I pootted". I reallllly don't like that one (just because of that line). Cartoon Network is doing waaay to many farting/butt jokes (Cheese, Gym Partner, and others).

"Yes" may be their summer deal mixed in with a few Cartoon Summer ads (mostly during :30 hour breaks, prime time, and weekends), instead of "Cartoon Summer: Now You're Getting Warmer" from 2005. The question is what will they do once summer is over? Are they going to do the city stuff we've been watching since 2006, or are they going to continue to make these changes that have been going on since April -- and possibly phase out the city look?

It may be for the summer, since it mentioned summer in a few of the "Yes" ads.

I think they may keep the "Yes" slogan after the summer. It definetly sticks out from the rest of the kids networks (does Disney or Nick even have thier own slogans anymore?).

You know, I've seen channels change their bumpers every year. Wonder if CN would do the same.

I don't believe Disney Channel changes bumpers every year.

April 2003, to be exact. I read an article on the net, talking about the change, and the article has said April __, 2003. Still, I can't believe Disney hasn't changed 'em yet!
