On May 29 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_29), 2006 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006), Time Warner (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Warner) and Turner Broadcasting (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turner_Broadcasting) announced that Cartoon Cartoon Network will be launched as a 24-hour digital cable (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cable_television) television network (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Television_network) in both North America (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_America) and Europe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe) around May 28 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_28), 2007 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007). It was quite similar to Nickelodeon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nickelodeon_TV_channel)'s sister-related project NickToons Network (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NickToons_Network), showing mainly Cartoon Cartoons produced by "Hanna-Barbera (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanna-Barbera)/Cartoon Network Studios (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartoon_Network_Studios)", non-Cartoon Cartoons produced by other animation studios (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animation_studio), and Cartoon Cartoons from Cartoon Network (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartoon_Network)'s international networks.
Wow. I've always dreamed about this but I never thought that it would come true. If this is successful, I wonder if the present Cartoon Network will:
move all of its originals to the network
steadily progress to become a live action network
or become what it was like between 1992-98 as a classic cartoon channel

Funny how there's no press release from either Time-Warner or Turner Broadcasting to back up that Wikipedia entry...

I haven't been able to find any official or reputable source for this. Don't always believe everything you read at Wikipedia. Here's info on the guy who added it... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Anonymous_Guy. I think that speaks for itself.

Not real. There's a better chance of Roger Clemens staying in baseball for 10 more years than to see another Cartoon Network spinoff channel in the near future.

In the UK we have "CNtoo", which is similar to that. Perhaps it will be succesful enough for other countries, then again most CN channels originate from the USA.

God, you had me almost convinced this was true.:(

Yeah... Cartoon Network abandoned the "Cartoon Cartoon" name years ago. I can't say much more.

This has to be false. Why would CN launch another channel in the UK when CN Too just launched? Although I do believe that here in the US, we need another CN channel.

Juniors, stop posting stuff from wiki because i really doubt it is true. Most of it is rumor. We all wish it was true but it aint.

I didn't think that sounded very probable since they're already in the process of turning Boomerang into just that. Plus, they abandoned the "Cartoon Cartoon" label around the time Powerpuff Girls disappeared.
Anyway, what would be the point of launching another Cartoon Network spinoff channel when they can't even get Boomerang into most homes? You know... much as I would dig a Cartoon Cartoon channel or a Toonami channel.

If the rumors were true about a CNToo, we here at ToonZone would have heard about it from a reliable source...
ToonZone itself.

Well, CNToo is an actual channel in the U.K.

But not here. At least not yet.

Anyway, what would be the point of launching another Cartoon Network spinoff channel when they can't even get Boomerang into most homes? That, and Turner's just going a little crazy... selling Turner South to News Corp (so that they could turn it into another sports network) was a sign. Then, Time Warner acquires a 50% stake in Court TV?
Hmm. They don't really care about Boomerang. The fact that Boomerang actually exists is something that Turner and Time Warner kicked under the carpet years ago. And, no, I can't see Turner launching any more channels in any future. It's satisfied getting top ratings for Ben 10 and Adult Swim.

Boomerang will *likely* become CN Too in the USA in a couple of years.
