My dad's computer has been infected with the "Popuppers" Adware bug. He has tried ADV Free and Ad-Aware SE. Nothing has worked. How would you suggest he fixes it?

Also, get Spybot Search and Destroy, and download Windows Defender (http://forums.toonzone.net/)[URL="http://forums.toonzone.net/"] from Microsoft site, its free.

I use Ad-Aware, Spybot, and Windows Defender, and that seems to work out pretty well-- when there's something that one service won't take care of, one of the others is nearly always able to.

Most name-brand antivirus and security suites (Norton, McAfee, ZoneAlarm, etc.) will include some kind of antispyware utility as well. They vary in quality, but most will make a worthy addition to the trilogy of free programs mentioned above.

No single program will solve all your problems, so it's fortunate that antispyware programs play much more nicely together than antivirus programs (of which you can usually only have one at a time).
