Together we will pull each other through...That spiky-haired little kid named Zatch Bell is in the midst of a battle to become king of the Mamodos! Along with his partner Kiyo, they fight to make sure the next king is kind, and that these fights come to an end!

Week Ten - June 5-9, 2006 (Weekdays at 4:30 pm EST)
Note: All episodes past Monday's are listed in spoiler tags, so as not to ruin the experience of those watching them for the first time.

Monday, 6/5: #44 "Invitation to a Duel" - Rumors abound about a Mamodo whose opponents never came out of their battle with a book intact. Zatch is surprised to learn the Mamodo is himself, and he's about to get an opponent intending on changing that.

Tuesday, 6/6: #45 "Zatch vs. Bari" - Zatch has always strived to win the Mamodo battle to become a kind king. But is he any match for Bari, who wants to be the strongest, most powerful king?
Wednesday, 6/7: #46 "Ponygon's Close Call" - We all know Ponygon is a Mamodo, but he as of yet hasn't managed to find his bookkeeper! So, he sets out on a journey to find the guy himself... with hilarious results!
Thursday, 6/8: #47 "Rumble in the Snow" - We get sidetracked as Sherry and Brago take over the show for one episode! The duo's searching for a Mamodo in the mountains and instead encounters a situation involving a boy, his grandpa, and some land developers...
Friday, 6/9: #48 "The Mystery of the Stone Tablets" - As our heroes search for more information on the mysterious tablet, Zatch regales Tia with tales of his battles so far. But Kiyo & Zatch aren't alone... a dark pairing is on their way to Japan to conduct their own investigation...Funny... I think I ended up missing all of these episodes the first time around save for #47, which I do remember seeing the second half of. This'll be an interesting week for me. Anyway... review!

And remember, no comments about last weekend's premiere episode! Save those comments for the talkback thread of Battle in the Park: Zatch vs. Kiyo?! (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=167879)

He should be surprised, since it isn't you know true. I mean, ignoring the fact of how many Mammado he's met and sort of let go/ran away from (Kanchome, Rops (although that one was a tie), Puriyo, Baranasha), he got owned (for the most part) by Brago way back in Episode 5. And then there's the fact he's made friend with other book owners (mainly Tia and Won Rei) which kind of makes that notion a lie. A better thing to say would of been "Zatch has defeated opponents who were supposedley many times his skill levels" or something like that. I suppose it's better then just being considered a weakiling though, but it's still a big plot hole in an otherwise good ep.

A very intense battle Zatch had with Bari. Clearly if I hadn't seen any episodes after this one yet, I would've been very concerned that Zatch wouldn't make it through. The little bugger's resilient, but he could only hold off Bari for so long. To think, this is all before Bari develops a clear purpose for winning the battle to become Mamodo king. If this battle was tough now... man, Kiyo and Zatch will be in over their heads the next time they meet.

Oh, and bonus points for Bari tossing Naomi aside in Part 1 yesterday. :D

I wonder what separates Bari from other evil Mamodos? I know he doesn't want to be a lame-o Kind King. I hate kindness.

Bari is like Vegeta perhaps... Certainly evil but not entirely evil. He just wants a good fight and to prove his greatness. He can be quite cold hearted but he's also not entirely heartless. Cause you know every shonen series has gotta have one...

Ponygon's Close Call is hilarious. Good points include:
Ponygon saying the title
Ponygon fretting over Zatch, and leaving Kiyo alone. Besides, where the hell is the mom in this
The "Dry Grass Salesman"

Besides, is Ponygon's mom in the human or the mamodo world?

In a Zatch Bell OAV, Doronma returns.

But from what I heard, he is NOT good! He teams up with that big guy from the Praying Mantis Joe episode, kidnapping Ponygon to get revenge for making him screw up.Now Zatch, Kiyo, and Sunbeam have to find him.

The Mammado world. Only the 100 Mammado were sent to the human world, no reliatives and onlookers and we've seen no evidence (and I've heard no evidence) that Ponygon's mom was one of the mammado chosen. Besides if she was he would be thinking about him and her being seperated as they were both transported to the human world, but he only thought of her in the Mammado world at his house and nothing more.

Looks like Zatch will stay on Miguzi for another rerun from the begining after it catches up with Toonami's airings. (according to CN's schedule page anyway). Good to know, I was afraid they'd pull it after it caught up to Toonami because season 2 is reruning at midnight replacing Naruto when it moves to weekdays.

Though I don't see why they couldn't air both post CNF now. Shoot... Zatch could air at 11:30PM and Naruto could stay at Midnight.
