I'm guessing you did not have a great childhood. Better yet, it's best if you watch it July 10. You'll see why it's awesome.
Also the reason why Futurama is airing at 10 is because AS wants the Korgoth pilot to do well.

I'm not. Pee Wee's Playhouse is a live action show made for preschoolers. It doesn't belong on Adult Swim at all. They're probably just putting it on to piss off their viewers. By the way, Paul Reubens, the actor who played Pee Wee, was arrested for masturbating in a porno theatre. Because of that incident Pee Wee's Playhouse has not been played in a long long time.

the show was not made for the pre-k crowd. it was a hybrid show for kids and adults. back in the day, PWP was the most creative show on television - it just happened to be on Saturday mornings.
if it brings more eyes to [as], what's the harm? is it the stigma of "live action" or what?
i think Brendon Small said it best: "I think that people turn to Adult Swim not just because it's animated -- though that's a big part of it -- but because it's funny and different."

Hasn't stopped Reubens from finding jobs though. He's been on a ton of different shows over the past 10 years or so.

You know what, if Adult Swim starts picking up weird live action shows like "Pee-Wee's Play House," "Saved by the Bell," and maybe something like "Pryor's Place" (courtesy of Retro Junk: http://retrojunk.com/details_tvshows/948-pryors-place/) as well as other weird live action shows along those lines, then I'm fine with it... as long as it's on occasions and no longer than 2 weeks.
Heh, anyone think these shows might be trying to expand Adult Swim's format? Perhaps be a network for "weird/random crap" moving beyond live action? It's possible...
If they start getting serious about it and pick up shows like "Lost," "Arrested Development," "Monk," or "War at Home", then I'm not too keen about the idea. Just because it would be just like another TBS or another Fox IMO. Comedy of both live action and animation.

saturdays ratings have to be up right? right?
Saturday, May 27th
IY: 368,000
FMA: 352,000
E7: 334,000
is this considered high now?
Up: IY
New: FMA, E7
Sunday, May 28th
F-Guy: 739,000
Chicken: 693,000
ATHF: 530,000
not to good :(
Down: F-Guy, Chicken, ATHF
How convienent, both ratings in one bump.
But WOW. A Saturday Rating's Report that actually makes sense? I didn't know those still existed!

It is for the summer. I wonder if these ratings are what made them decide to keep Eureka Seven at the 12:00 spot? Of course they may still change it next week. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I honestly hope Eureka Seven does well. I mean, I'm not really keen on the show, but it's the only new anime they currently have, and I don't want anime to fail completely. Oh wait, Inuyasha is new...hmmmm...why do they keep the Inu-yasha premieres on weekdays when Saturday is so desperately in need of new content?

I don't think Renton's hazing really resembled most frat hazings. I mean, Renton didn't get any hockey pucks shoved up his ass.

Because InuYasha premieres on Saturdays get the same numbers or worse than InuYasha reruns. Makes the show look bad.
This may be a bit weird, and I've been wanting to bring this up for a while... I didn't think it deserved it's own topic, and now that they're showing PA on ASF, I thought that this would be a good time to bring it up.
Please tell me that I'm not the only one who sees this: (it's a lot easier to see in when it's not this small)

Hmmm... Then I guess it's just me. (Although even I have trouble seeing it in that particular capture due to the low quality. I only noticed it when I happened to pause the DVD on that scene)
It looks like a sitting down Maromi to me. (then again, I picked him out in about 12 other places in the theme song.)

Saturdays have returned to acceptable 300-400K territory and the top 3 finished in an order that actually makes sense. I was glad to see E-7 recover from the previous week's collapse.
AS apparently changing its mind about the E-7 slot upon seeing recovering ratings kinda blows the bottom out of my theory that they were trying to use new content to lure returning late-night partyers into watching AS.
I hope E-7 continues pulling decent ratings. It's the only hope we have for AS to run the entire series. Also, it looks like they are consistently running the E-7 next-episode previews now, which should help the ratings. For instance, next episode promises to reveal something about Eureka's background. Since I'm fascinated with her, I'll be certain to watch. (^_*)

Adult Swim is quickly becoming home to the obscure, nostolgic shows animated or not. Like Steve James just said, thats fine as long as it's limited and doesn't take over the whole block. This is one reason why I wouldn't want AS to be it's own network (as in 24 hour). I fear that these sort of things would take over the network and the fact that it's part of Cartoon Network is helping keeping it partly true to the original vision. I mean, the Mr.t, Chuck Norris, Globetrotters, and Gary Coleman shows are funny in the regard that they were so bad which is part of their appeal. I don't mind these sort of things as long as they don't overdo it.

With Saturday's erratic ratings, yes it is. You see, E7 has done for the most part, average on AS. With the exception of two weeks, E7 has broken the 300,000 barrier everytime.

Yes, but IY seems to anchor Saturdays for some reason, so it has a slot there, even if it's just reruns.
As for why E7 doesn't premiere during the week, I don't know. Maybe they wanted to try and see if premiering shows on Saturday was a good idea again?

I may have to watch the early PA eps now that they have subs. I'm suprised Geneon gave them new copies for the episodes (or that AS asked for them).
OK...for some reason, a bunch of AS Fix shows have flipped upside down and now have a green tint. Anybody else getting this error?

On Wednesday night, I was the checking the tv guide screen with my remote to see what was coming up on [adult swim]. Anyways for midnight, they had a fifteen minute episode for The Boondocks titled 'Garden Party' (which is the first episode of the series) and then a fifteen minute episode for Robot Chicken. From looking, The Boondocks always has a twenty-two minute episode barring commericals. Did anyone else get this? I do believe The Boondocks probably aired in entirety and it just error, but I didn't stay up for the show.

Can somebody tell me if AS aired any special cards right before Eva ep. #18 aired? Because somebody over at the Trivial Being forums said they did:
If they go the manga route for the battle with Unit 03/Bardiel (which I think they should) in the second movie, Toji would die, not mention the fact that either way Unit 01 would tear Unit 03 limb from limb, spraying obscene amounts of blood everywhere...that's an R right there, considering when the series aired on Adult Swim, that episode carried a TV-MA and had a warning beforehand saying it had "the most violent scene in anime" in it. And of course for the finale...Rei being immolated, Kaworu getting crushed and his head popping off, and the slaughter of NERV by the JDSSF...I've heard of originals being rated R but sequels PG-13, but this could be the first time the original's rated PG-13 but the sequels are rated R.
