This episode thinks pretty highly of itself.

I've always been meaning to ask this but, why does Bandai not translate the episode titles?

They do on the DVDs.

and now the good episodes start.
i think the whining will go down a bit, especially after next week's episode.
Sheesh, Eureka really has 0 parental skills, does she? Then again, she gives "sheltered" a whole new meaning.
Holland's group infiltrating the home was great, though. :anime: Poor Moondoggy.

In this new era of soft subtitles, there's no longer any need to overlay episode titles and signs and what not... So, yeah. I guess that explains it.

Eureka continues to give off the android/robot vibe, you know? She can't keep control of her kids, has to ask Renton how to discipline a child, and also has no feelings about going along with the others and helping apprehend the 'terrorist' lady. She's starting to freak me out...
In fact, I'm getting freaked out a lot now... in the end Holland and the others were doing it for the money, they never really were going to turn in their fellow 'government conspirator?' Holland at the end of this episode, as well as the preview (something bad for the girls it suggests, if I heard right?) have bad vibes about their next destination. What could've happened?
6.5 out of 10 for "Glorious Brilliance." To be fair, I think right now the last thing E7 needs to do is to start make people confused and thinking about stuff.

Wait Eureka is asking Renton how to scold the little one. What the hell is she thinking? Well the episode was nice. I always appreciate more interactions between Eureka and Renton. I'm not sure what to rate this ep so I will not until later on when I've had time to think about it.
Hey what was bleeped out? That was weird since we heard Holland say ***** earlier in the episode.

^^^ I'm a good guesser.
What did the commander say that was bleeped?
It's not on DVD, so I don't think anyone knows. Probably the s-word.
Still, this is more of a shonen series that skews younger. What's with the foul language?
Stupid question: I thought the Gekkostate was one of the most high-profile rebellion groups. Wouldn't SOMEBODY in military command question them turning in an ally of the rebellion and have some kind of control measures in place? Or were all the smart military officials off that day?

Stupid Answer: Probably. Didn't Holland admit that it was stupid of the militaryto ask Gekkostate to be the ones to take charge of the woman? Or at the very least that the ones who gave them the mission didn't know of there record since this mission was so "above them" or something.
Anyway pretty decent ep (mainly for the scene of Eureka slapping the kid. It was kind of cold but she did kind of deserve it for randomly getting lost like that. I mean it's not like it was that harmful anyway right?). Although the old woman reminded me of some kind of Scientologist with total trust in some weird sounding god that most people are confused with. Oh well. At least it looks like this will lead to some answers in next week's ep. Or at the very least more questions. And also an interesting turning point: Will people continue tuning in at 1:30 if next week fails for them or not? I know some people will probably give up after the time change but I have a feeling some will give up next week as well. Hope I'm not one of them.

Nice, above average episode. Though, it seemed to bounce around a lot. I just knew they were all going to crash into that woman's house, considering it felt like a setup during the calm moment at the table (I kept thinking "boom" every few seconds until the door finally got knocked down). The whole thing with the kids during the first half was kinda annoying, since it felt like a rehash of that earlier episode.
I give GB a C+.

Personally, I liked the short exchange between Talho and Holland at the end.
"How many years have passed...since then?"
"I've forgotten."

(Softly)"Liar."

I don't know, I was pretty down on last week's ep and thought this one was better. Finally got back to the plot and didn't overdo it on hijinks.
Pretty average but that's an improvement.

It was an enjoyable episode. Renton and Holland were both interesting. Hopefully there will be some more good stuff next week.

It wasn't their fault that you missed the first airing.
"Glorious Brilliance" was definitely brilliant, compared to the lackluster episode from last week. Not great, but it certainly was enjoyable. Eureka certainly wasn't a very good 'mother', and Renton telling Eureka what to do with Maeter (I think that's the name).

lol @ Eureka Seven coming on at the regular time. o_O Maybe a screw up? or maybe they dropped the whole push it back idea. Who knows.. anyway, I loved the episode anyway. ^.^ The whole plan was flawless. Military trusts the Gekko-State, thinking they'd come to a common ideal to stop the Volderek (sp). Music was good too.. can't wait for next week.

Yeah that seems perfectly reasonable. You did a great job explaining why you feel this show deserves that 1.0/10. Hopefully next time we'll get 10 swears so you can give it a 10.0.

I have to say that not only was the action in this deftly boarded - very nice, big scale stuff, but the religious overtones in this show continue to be more and more intriguing. The usage here seems to be much more authentic than a lot of other anime series that have tried to invoke religious elements both in terms of plot criticality and in terms of reprasentation of a faith-guided mentality. It has a nice mix real-world commentary and references and metaphors to real religions and their practices as well. It ends up really reminiscent of some of the better pieces of golden-era sci-fi in that way because of that commentary - it's trying to tackle genuine issues via sci-fi setting to soften the impact and so that in someways more can be said.
On the whole, Eureka Seven is proving to be oddly cerebral, or atleast that's the only way it's entertaining. If you either don't want to think about the show in depth, or you lack the capacity to, it'll be boring, but if you start playing with it, it's impressive what it puts forth.

Well supposedley this was only for this week. Next week (supposedley according to the CN.com and AS.com schedules) Eureka Seven is going to air at 1:30. Maybe they decided to hold back on it this week due to premiering Kolgorth or something. Oh well. Guess we'll see if it's really moving there next week.

Well that's probably a good reason they put it on AS. Still though you can't just throw in very cerebral stuff to the auidence without first making the show worthwhile to watch. Otherwise only the truley obsessive people will continue watching and being fascinated with it. That dosen't make them wrong or anything, but from a more buisness point of view this type of show can only work by hooking on people early (and based on the ratings it hasn't). Sure it's better now then it was in the first five episodes but how many people have stuck with it? And how many people will stick with it at the 1:30 slot? That's what I wanna know.

Or maybe the military didn't want the lady handed over them, maybe they wanted her to end up with the Gekkostate.

You know, I really enjoyed this show in Japanese. I absolutely despise it in English.
There are very few animes where I think that the dub absolutely ruined the show.

This may be off topic but does anybody knows why this is called "Eureka Seven?"
Well, the Eureka part is because that's the main girl's name (though I still can't bring myself to pronounce it "Elreka").
As for the Seven part...I'm gonna take a stab in the dark on this one. Now, I have absolutely nothing but other TV shows to base this on, so I'd appreciate not having major spoilers revealed, but I wouldn't be surprised if...she's part of a series of genetically engineered humans designed to control some ultimate weapon. The Eureka we know is the seventh of the line
Again, I have about 0 facts to back that up, so take it with an extreme grain of salt.

I always have a bunch of questions after I watch every episode, even though by the end most of them will probably get answered..
Why is Holand hiding things from Renton?
I'm really starting to like the music in this series. :)
I see that Eureka doesn't descipline her kids that much.
That's why they behave like brats sometimes. :ack:
I have a feeling that either Holand and his crew or/and Eureka are resposible for what happenned to those kids parents, and that's why Eureka is like their mommy....
Why are Gekko State after the older woman she doesn't seem like the terrorist to me?
Do kids get to help out Eureka on missions?
Who is Voodarac? What holy land are they talking about?
Every time this holy land gets mentioned I think of FMA...for some reason.
I have missed some of the episodes, but by this time I should know what Holand and his crew do for a living! :o
Are they Bounty hunters, like on Cowboy Bebop?
Then it doesn't make much sense on why they rescued the old lady from government at the end, unless she was innocent and the government wanted to put her in prison for no reason.
Hey, that rymes!
