Is it just a coincidence that Evangelion episode 18 is airing on 6/6/06?

So what's the big deal? It'd be a good idea to summarize the episode. I mean, not everyone has seen Eva, surprising as it may sound.

I think it's the one when Eva Unit-01 snaps and crushes the head of Eva Unit-03 and blood and gore go everywhere. It was the first TV-MA episode.

I don't recall that episode being all that violent, I guess I'll have to watch it again.

No, not ironic at all.

O.O OK...The battlefield litterally gets covered in blood (I think there's enough blood on that battlefield to fill the Dead Sea), both Eva's get strangled, and we see a detailed shot of Eva Unit 01 literally crushing Eva Unit 04's head. Not to mention what happened to the pilot.
If that ain't violent, I'd like to see what is.

I guess it's ironic because the devil symbolizes violence and death... or something.

Maybe if this were the year 6 AD, but the number would technically be 662006.

What happens to the pilot is violent, but aren't the Eva's just robots? I'll have to watch the episode again tommorow, I was really tired the first time I saw it.

Technically, but they're organic, and they leak red "blood"/"oil," and they hae organs as well, which makes it more violent.
The only scene in Eva more violent than Unit 01's assault on Unit 04 is the main fight in End of Eva, which is just gross.
