For those who don't know, Hertzfeldt is the mind behind the aired-on-AS "Billy's Balloon" and "Intermission" as well as the didn't-air-on-AS-but-was-going-to-controversy "Rejected".

All of his stuff is pretty good so you should get it!

Damn it angers me with Hertzfeldt that his work is found on so many compliations and he keeps rereleasing it such as the Rejected DVD.

I don't believe Meaning of Life was previously on DVD, but then again I never saw the DVD avaliable for The Animation Show 2.

I'm probably in the minority on this, but I think Meaning of Life was rather brilliant.

I never thought a stick-figure cartoon could be described as "beautiful" before.

Mega bump because I actually got mine!

The shorts look great, The Meaning of Life was very good (and oddly inspired), and the special features are neat. I liked seeing the Opening/Ending to the Animation Show in addition to Intermission which AS aired awhile ago.

You should get this!

Agreed! The Don Hertzfeldt "text" commentary is patently hilarious.

I never thought traditional animation was capable of such beauty. It's amazing how Hertzfeldt started with something so basic and than whips away to scenes of extraordinary beauty.
