I hate to ask a lot, but I tried everything I have yet to find an answer. Anyway, I'm running on a WinBook X2 Laptop with WinXP PRO SP2 Pentium III and suddenly today everytime I tried to start an IM on MSN 7.5 the computer locks up and reboot. when it reboots it saids "Operating system not found" or everything it freezes doing something it does the same thing.
So if anyone can tell me how can I fix this. I alredy tried the Registry Repair PRO SE and It doesn't solve the problem. shuting down the computer for an hour hasnt helped either:crying:

What did you do that day on your PC, the day before as well. Did you install anything, go to a suspicious website, open a spam email, everything. What exactly happans when you start up your IMs? What happans when you reboot?

Umm.. I din't do nothing, exept my CD is stuck on the CD/DVD ROM. I haven't browsed suspicious websites, I don't open spam mail, When I start an IM on MSN messenger, it frezzes up completly and reboots, then it shows this black screen saying "No operating system found" I have to push the power button to get it to boot. I cant open GMAIL througn Mozilla because it does the same. the IM thing doesn't happen on Windows Messenger, which is strange.
Also.. I was direct downloadin Boukenger ep 14 today, and I left the computer, I came back a couple of mins later, and it rebooted by itself with the same message.

All the simptoms of a virus are present. There is no reason why you should get that message using WinXP SP2. What is the color of the screen where it says "No operating system found"? And when does this massage apear when you try to reboot it, before or after it shuts down and gets ready to start.

The color is black, like if it was a normal advice from the system, I also can't restore it to an earlier time, it always fails, The message appears exactly after rebooting itself. When I turn it off manualy then it boots normally. but every time it freezes it goes like that. I tried accesing another board through IE and it hangs up. It began suddenly out of nowjhere

Granted, it's crashing for some reason, but hay. lets look at the "Operating system not found" error first.
Why is the CD stuck?
Look at your BIOS setting and make sure that it boots to the hard drive first.
You can enter the BIOS by rebooting. Watch close, it will tell you which key to hit to enter the BIOS set-up.
Probably F2.
Then BOOT OPTIONS.
Then make sure your hard drive is the first to boot in the boot sequence.
Then exit, choosing "save changes & exit."
Be carfull of making unwanted changes to your bios. If you have any doubts about the changes, exit without saving and try again at the next reboot.

I agree, check that, but I don't think that thats the problem.
But you are wrong there. Floppy has to be first, then ATAPI then HDD. Because he might need to boot from a floppy at some point, or from his OS CD. HDD should be on the second or third Boot option. If you don't have a floply, then ATAPI shpuld be first and HDD second. But the problem is, if you have multiple HDDs, the you have to go out of Boot Options, and IDE configuration, in HDD setup, and place the system HDD first.
I doubt that is the problem, because if the System HDD was not in the correct boot order, his system would not start at all.
There are viruses that screw up the Boot.ini file, some viruses actualy fake the "Operating system not found" massage to scare the daylights out of you. After you check your BIOS setup, scan it for viruses.
As for CD being stuck, try using a straintened paper clip and put it in the tiny hole of the drive. What CD is inside? Maybe it is responsible for the massage.

Thanks for all of your advices, well I'll check the BIOS now.
Is a Blank CD-R that's stuck, I was burning some .avi's into a Data CD as a backup form using Nero Starmart. Today My CD-RW shows this message:
[Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.]
I'll still scan it for viruses, just in case. My CD-RW/DVD is an TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-R2102

Disconnect all cables atached to it (but turn off the PC first and disconect the power cable from ther PC) There will be a long ribbon cable, a small 4 pin white molex connector (power) and a tiny 3 or 2 pin sound cable. Disconnect all of them, and see if the problem persists.

Uh, he can't do the above since he has a laptop...

You can, but it's not as easy as opening up a desktop. Most new laptops are actually rather easy to upgrade with most sites giving detailed intructions on how to switch out parts besides memory, which is usually accessible just by removing two screws to take off a cover.

Uh, he can't do the above since he has a laptop...Oh, somehow I missed that. Then I would recomend not to mess with it and take it to a rapair shop. The malfunctioning drive migfht be the cause of his troubles. I don't recomend opening up a laptop. They are much more dificult than a Desktop rig.
