By about $3-4 in my area, raising the price to around $28 CDN. Not really what I want to pay for 2-discs. Anyone else notice this?

Yeah, I was a little put down the high price. Good thing I got it just days after it was released. If I waited, it would've spiked to $36:00 CAN.

I recall paying $27 for the first two boxes. This one was $25 (about equal to CDN$28, I believe). I dunno... a couple of bucks either way isn't a big deal to me, especially with something like Samurai Jack that I would willingly pay through the nose for.

I noticed the price on Amazon has been the lowest of all three sets. It just depends on your area, as always.

Best Buy and Circuit City didn't even advertise it this week. I still need to go pick it up...

sorry, the Shinobi episode will be in S4

here's the rundown:
Disc One:
Chicken Jack
The Rave
The Clenches
Zombie Hill
The Minions of Set
The Traveling Creatures (aka Jack vs. The Guardian)
Jack's Pet (that annoying tag-along beast)

Disc Two:
Chronos
Haunted
Shao-Lin
Birth of Evil (I-II w/ commentary)
The Labryinth

special features: The Martial Arts of Samurai Jack* Lost Artwork Gallery* and the aforementioned commentary on the Emmy-Award winning episodes "Birth of Evil" I-II

I just hope WHV releases the final set this yr instead of next May (yeah right!:rolleyes2:

You're right, Amazon is the cheapest so far. I got my copy for $26 at Amazon, while everywhere else it was $29.99 and above in my local area (Futureshop, Walmart, etc)

I paid $20 for it. Where the heck areyou guys going?

While I hope S4 does not take another year to come out, I hate to say it, but Season 4 has the majority of the worst Jack episodes ever created.

The prices I referred to in my post were in Canadian dollars, but even with that, the conversion rate isn't that big of a difference as much as it used to be. The question we should really be asking is where are you going? $20 is pretty cheap.

I remember paying about $25 for both Seasons 1 & 2 sets together, so the price has definitely risen over here in Canada.

According to Target, the MSRP for Season Three is $29.98, which in itself is five dollars higher than the MSRP for the second set. I don't know why they'd charge so much for thirteen episodes, but business is as business does.

Interesting. It could be a recent price drop on the other sets (since previous volumes always drop a bit when a new one arrives). If not...it could be because Season 2 sold so well (over 84k units) that they're trying to get even more profit this time around.

That or production costs have risen in a year. They really should release these sets faster. :p

You're right about the price drop. I recall purchasing Season 2 for $26.99 last year.

Best Buy: $25 on the streetdate
the question: is where are you going?

S4 had some great eps: Shinobi, The Princess & The Bounty Hunters, The Aku Infection, X-9, The Seasons of Death, Young Jack in Africa, Mondo-Bot, even Da Samurai had some good moments. And then there was "The Scotsman Saves Jack". Been a while since I've seen it but I enjoyed it for the most part...though I do recall not liking the end very much. And there was the duel between Jack & Aku (hand-to-hand)

the few I didn't care for: Babysitting Jack, The Space Fairies

Except for The Aku Infection, Seasons of Death, and Scotsman Saves Jack, the rest are quite average.

I especially hate the last episode...

...for one obvious reason.

I haven't seen all of the episodes of Samurai Jack, practically none at all on TV. Which is why it's such a treat for me to watch them as each dvd comes out.

Hopefully Season 4 won't take as long to come out. I can't wait :D

Out where I live, the SJS3 set is $25 at Wal-Mart. Put it on layaway for safekeeping, 'cause these SJ box sets have a history of selling out here about a month after they've been released every summer, and there's always been a long wait for more copies.

When I put the set on layway this week, there were three copies. When I went back to shop around in the electronics department, there was one copy left, and I'm betting it will be gone when school gets out for the summer (probably somebody's birthday or graduation gift).

OUCH! Ehhhh, now he tells me! (Takes gun and blows brains out!)

But seriously, thanks for the tip-off. Maybe I'll take Jack off layaway at Wal-Mart and buy it at Target.

EDIT: Speaking of Target, check out the prices on the SJ season sets here:http://www.target.com/gp/search.html/ref=sr_bx_1/601-4894708-1377736?field-keywords=Samurai+Jack+DVD&index=target&x=11&y=10

But make sure your Target still has copies before you take it off layaway.

And good luck recovering from your attempted suicide. :p
