So there I was, checking the RSS Feed for TVshowsonDVD.com, and what do I find but the following link: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=5692

If this is not awesome I don't know what is. :D

i was just away to post about this in the voltron dvd thread.this tin looks incredible i can't wait till september and can only dream what the fully painted one will look like.plus what do you think the other tins will look like ? when they are released?

Awright, the tins are gonna look awesome, once they're painted.
Put in the uncut original Japanese versions, and they'll have another customer.

I've been unclear as to how the Voltron episodes are being released. Are we getting the uncut Japanese versions which we all know WEP has, or are getting the U.S. aired versions?

I think they're releasing the U.S. edited Voltron first, and then releasing the original, uncut Japanese episodes at a later date.

Love the box, but I have to say I'm not really as hyper-excited about Lion Voltron getting released first. I know it's the more popular, but I'd much rather get a quality DVD set of Vehical Voltron episodes and the team up movie in case Toonami is looking for their next Voltron toy and wants to do Lothor's Robeast from 'Fleet of Doom'.

Then that truly sucks if that's whats gonna happen. Because it's no different than when a movie studio double dips and will release the theatrical version of a movie first, then months or even years later release a longer uncut edition.

I'm a huge Voltron fan, and it's gonna kill me, but I may have to pass on these sets if that's what they're gonna do. Because I am NOT, I repeat NOT gonna re-buy the entire series to have the original uncut versions.

There is NO reason to release the U.S. edited versions at all! The demographic that is gonna buy these sets are gonna be the fans that grew up with the show, fans that are now adults, and can handle said uncut Japanese versions. I don't see many children buying these, or having their parents buy these sets at all.
