That's right people Spiderman is getting a brand new toon. T.V production is suppose to start early 2002. It's also a tie-in with the new Spiderman movie! I can't wait. I hope it comes on Kids WB so it can do a crossover special with X-men:Evolution! So look out for that! :wakko:

That is sweet! But nothing will be as good as the 90's Spider-man, but a new series doesn't hurt. It would be awesome if I or anyone made a cartoon off the Spider-Man mangaverse.

I have posted this pic a thousand times but just so you know how awesome it is. I now must go on a bigger power trip after posting big honkin' photos. Time to banish your thread to Anigen! Bwahahaha... ;)

Well, I personaly would like to see it on Saturday morning, or Cn. Didn't MTV cut all their animation anyway?

I don't think it will be on MTV, since it stopped doing animation. Probably a good thing, considering how shabilly they treated Daria and Undergrads.

So, who do you think will house it?

(Refrains from drooling about manga Spider-Man.....)

I think Fox Kids, they have 20 mil. They should float me a loan.

MTV will be showing the next Spuderman cartoon. They did close down all their animation studio but the cartoon isnt done by them they will just be showing it... i dont remember what other cartoon they are making but i think theres another.. i have no clue what time it will be shown, maybe it will take Sponge Bob's place or they may be starting a Saturday block(their wierd like that).

If MTV treats it poorly, I'm sure CN will save it, anyway.
But, you know what MTV means? It might actually be good, being on a non-kids network. hehe?

Hehehe, Spider-Man Mangaverse! Sweet. I dunno how well that'd pass over with hardcore comic fans...but with people like me, who doesnt care as much about continuity...I'd love it!

Last I heard the new cartoon is supposed to be entirely CG? Hmm...hope they get Mainframe to do it. Every other CG cartoon company really sucks. And Spider-Man is going to need that fluid motion, that only Mainframe has offered, so far.

I heard Mainframe was doing it hence why everyone says Reboot will be on Nickelodeon... because Mainframe is becoming buddys with MTV (not sure on this though). And i dont see why they wouldnt do a continued storyline they did for Daria.

I believe the series you're thinking of is Gatecrasher, also being animated by Mainframe (at least partially).

I believe that is it. I wonder what their plan is with this new interest in animation.

Sony & Mainframe will be doing the Spider-Man CGI series, while MTV will only be airing it. MTV will also be airing Gatecrasher as well. MTV is expected to have a "super-hero" type block on the network, likely Sundays. One small reason why Sony wanted the show on MTV is so they could make the show more "PG-13" in tone, which i think is a good idea. The animated series will supposedly follow the movie's continuity.

Nick/MTV/Mainframe are rumored to buy Fox Kids.

MTV should show some anime.. they wouldnt have to edit anything but the nudity really if they showed it late at night.

MTV did have Aeon FLUX on for awhile, so I could see anime workin gon the channel. Especially since the network considered themselves a "youth lifestyle channel" instead of a "music channel".

Ah yes, how the "M" in its name might as well stand for "miscellaneous."

Still, I'm all for a grittier Spider-Man series lacking a "life lesson of the week..."
