Just got back from the theater.
Thought it was pretty funny, but nothing special. Nobody in the theater got the Million Dollar Baby parody (all they thought was funny was the slapstick) because they're all either
A. 7 years old
B. Too gangsta for that, yo.
One too many fart jokes for my taste.
I enjoyed it. 4 stars- okay, not great.

Eh, to be expected.
I hardly remember 3. It was only halfway through the movie that I remembered Brenda and Cindy were in the last one (I guess CJ and the other black guy were too). From my hazy memory, I guess this was about on par with the last one in terms of hit-and-misses. I thought they picked good movies to spoof (War of the Worlds, The Village, Saw), but many of the jokes were uninspired, even for the PG-13 crowd. People getting hit in the head by flying objects can bring chuckles the first couple of times, but doesn't work as a running gag. Apparently anything that involves sex is hi-larious (though Brenda was a funny character) and "pee-pee" still constitutes as uproarious dialogue.
My favorite scenes involved Leslie Nielsen reprising as the president, particulary the U.N. scene. I liked how the ending tied back to the beginning, though the actual resolution was nauseatingly sweet. The Oprah joke ran too long. There were some genuinely tense moments, but the humor used to break it up was often stupid. James Earl Jones was wasted.

Saw this movie today and I thought it was okay. I liked it better than SM3. One thing I noticed is that King Kong is in the SM4 poster, but is not seen at all in the film. Why would they put him in the poster and not in the movie?

Probably because the finished scene wasn't as funny as they intended, like how the orignal Hulk/Matrix ending of SM3 was pretty... bad compared to the actual ending they used.
It was alright, but SM3 was better, IMO, although I don't like how they got rid of the cast from the last movie. Simon Rex's exit was actually pretty sad for a comedy.

So says Wikipedia:
Despite King Kong being in the poster, Craig Mazin confirms that the 2005 film will NOT be parodied in Scary Movie 4 :"I don't know why King Kong is on the poster. We do not spoof King Kong in the movie. Marketing trick, I guess."

It takes a special kinda person to love a David Zucker movie, and luckily I'm one of those people. I can understand the average viewer going to Scary Movie 3 with the preconceived notion that it'll be much like the prior two raunchy-Waynes film, only to be surprised and disappointed its not. Zucker's slapstick humor is EXTREMELY different then the humor this franchise was founded on.
...which is why it shocked me that he was picked up to helm it after the two brothers departed.
Its not a bad thing for me, considering I love Zucker and his humor, but it does mean I have to deal with people going "That was stupid", "What the hell happened?!", "There was no point to that", when what they really mean was "Not enough sex jokes" and "Not enough gangsta and drug jokes".
I was hoping the fact that the change between the two humors in the prior film would weed out the people who don't care for it. Sadly however, a lot of the people in the theater this go round were like "That wasn't like 1 or 2 at all!".
I preferred Zucker's 3 over this installation, though that's not to say I didn't enjoy this one. In the grand scheme of things I find it oddly hilarious that the 'germ' that whipped out the alien race in the movie was transmitted by sex-crazed Brenda. Funny parallel between the actual movie and this one. Also the jigsaw guys on tricycles. I haven't seen Saw so I'm not aware as to whether or not they actually ride Tricycles...but man did they make me laugh.
I also laughed surprisingly hard in the beginning when Charlie Sheen killed himself and the camera panned up close Faris' face and she had to move to get in front of it. Its that kind of stuff that I love. :p
Oh and 'Rachel' continually being beaten by her father was funny as well. Damn my love for children being flogged relentlessly.
I was disappointed the President thread didn't go anywhere. He did his bit at the UN then that was pretty much it. It didn't connect to the main plot nearly as well as it did in Scary Movie 3. Like wise CJ and his friend were wasted throughout most of the movie, wish their fear of Zombies had gone somewhere more then just a quick flogging of survivors. Especially considering it's got a lot more to do with Scary Movies then say...Brokeback mountain (which is not to say they're duet wasn't hilariously disturbing).
I thought it was hilarious when Brenda returned to "I thought you were dead!" with a "Yeah...I thought you were dead too". However I'm very disappointed she didn't die in this movie, considering up until now she'd died in every installment of the franchise. It was a running joke up until now, that she just kept coming back and nobody was the wiser to her death.
Kudos for continuity though. I don't recall the Waynes really caring about continuity between 1 and 2, so to see the effort between 3 and 4 was neat (Even though they practically killed everyone from 3).
All in all, enjoyable, but not the best it could have been.
One too many fart jokes for my taste.
I only remember one Fart Joke throughout the entire movie...

Brenda didn't die in Scary Movie 2, so I'm assuming she's only going to die every other movie.
I wish they'd have at least kept Cody around. As much fun as it was to see the other kid get beaten mercilessly, Cody's beat downs were funnier in Part 3, especially the bit with the ceiling fan.

I'm one of the few people who found 3 to be decent, it wasn't a good movie by any definition of the word, but there were some good jokes. This was just crap though, it's not that it's bathroom humor or stupid humor, it's just that it's not humor. It's anti-humor. In fact I'm pretty sure that if you brought in a copy of Groundhog's Day to the theater with you to see this movie then a horrible chain reaction would occur which would kill millions.
The butt/fart/penis/anal sex jokes were just pathetic, but the physical comedy was just horrible. The boxing scene is a good example, the set-up is just so awkward and the execution is so forced. For physical comedy to work it needs to have this nice flow to it, things need to be choreographed just right. The physical comedy in this was just ugly and awkward to look at.
If you like this movie then God no longer loves you, that's just what it all comes down to.

I saw an early teaser/trailer that involved King Kong molesting a girl in a bikini who said something to the effect of, "I like hairy boys." I clearly remember this.

The funniest part to me is when they had those dolls from saw and one of the brother had sex with the girl and his brother was like "did you have sex with her" and he said "she said she was a virgin" and he's like "we're ****ed". Oh yea the part where that blind girl came in the court room and went to sit down and started to take a crap, that was hairlous.

George's death wasn't funny because that's something could actually happen given the right situation. There no was comedy to him snapping his neck on a tipped over stool.
And Cody's exit wasn't much better. We just got a one liner about him going to military school and a quick shot of holding a gun and shaving. Cody could have easily been in the movie, and taken a beating alongside the little girl, just like the last movie.

That was Date Movie's promos.
That might be why SM4 didn't do a parody of King Kong, Kill Bill, or SW:EIII, films Date Movie spoofed as well.

The Guy who had the big dick, when he was hitting it tring to make it go down and then the cat jump on it, than he started to hit the cat and fill over the rail and not hitting the ground because of his dick was sorta funny.
