you can probably consider this as "unconfirmed" until a site like tvshowsondvd.com announces it, but animatedbliss.com (http://www.animatedbliss.com/DVD/details.asp?title=Xiaolin+Showdown:+Complete+First+Season)has the first season listed as being released on Aug 8th

And, I couldn't be any more extatic. I'm buying it; are you?

Nonetheless, I don't think that you shouldn't take this news seriously just because it didn't come from DVDactive or TVShowsOnDVD's webpage. I trust Joshua Lane; besides, Warner always sends out the info before the details.

Hell yeah! I was worried it wouldn't be reliesed onto DVD until the next format (I mean, the only other non-DC/Marvel Kids WB DVD set planned is Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain, both over 10 years old).

Guess WB knows a good series to put on DVD when they see it!

Again, HELL YEAH!

Edit: This brings up a question. If the first set does well, how will the second season (26 episodes) be released? 2 sets of 13 or one set of 26?

it's not that i dont trust him, i mean heck i've seen him posting here quite a few times giving information. It's just that if there's more public sites that have it listed (ie amazon and such) it would be more credible ... i guess you could say

*I think it would benefit a lot of people if more KidsWB shows would be released in season sets

So is this another one of those WBA shows that didn't revert to anamorphic widescreen until later? Just wondering what to expect.

Just... not all of them. Most of them would likely be no more than a waste of shelf space.

The only non DC/Mavel/Speliburg Universe/Xiaolin Showdown Kids WB shows I can think of that would be good on DVD are The Mummy, Earthworm Jim (I'd REALLY like it to be on DVD), Jackie Chan Adventures, and (to a lesser extent) Mucha Lucha (The first season was good).

To make things interesting, here is the list of all the shows that have been on Kids WB:

The Batman (the first season is out on DVD, with the second this fall)
Johnny Test
Loonatics Unleashed
Pokémon (The DVDs have just started Advance Battle)
Viewtiful Joe (Episodes 1-3 are on DVD with more on the way)
Xiaolin Showdown (this topic... DUH?)
Yu-Gi-Oh! (I think the DVDs just finished, or are close to finishing, Waking the Dragons)
Coconut Fred's Fruit Salad Island!
MegaMan: NT Warrior (The first season is SLOOOWLLY being released)
The All-New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show
Animaniacs (Coming to DVD this July)
Astro Boy (2003 remake) (Complete series already out)
Batman: The Animated Series (The series has been released in three sets)
Batman Beyond (The first season is out with the second still unannounced)
The Big Cartoonie Show!
BRATS of the Lost Nebula
Bugs and Daffy
Calamity Jane
Cardcaptors (I'm pretty sure it's completely out uncut on DVD)
Channel Umptee-3
Codename: Kids Next Door (select episodes are on DVD)
Cubix: Robots for Everyone (I think the first three episodes came out on DVD a few years ago)
Da Boom Crew
Detention!
Dragonball Z (All that's left is movie 13 and the rest of the Uncut episodes)
Earthworm Jim
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends (A "Best Of" DVD wil come out this year)
Freakazoid!
Freakout Friday!
Generation O!
Histeria!
Invasion America
Jackie Chan Adventures (I think it only got ONE DVD... and that was a cereal box DVD...)
Max Steel
Men in Black: The Series
The Mummy: The Animated Series (A few episodes merged into a movie came out on DVD back when The Mummy Returns came out)
The New Adventures of Captain Planet
The New Batman/Superman Adventures (TNBA came out as Volume 4 of the B:TAS sets)
The New Scooby-Doo Movies (I'm pretty sure this already out, minus Addams Family episodes)
The Nightmare Room
Ozzy & Drix
Phantom Investigators
Pinky and the Brain (Coming to DVD this July)
Pinky, Elmyra, & the Brain
The Powerpuff Girls (Only select episodes are on DVD... unless you live in Japan :p )
Rescue Heroes: Global Response Team
Road Rovers
Sailor Moon (I think this was completed on DVD... unless I'm wrong)
Samurai Jack (Seasons 1-3 are ether released or about to be released)
Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo
The Scooby-Doo Show
Scooby-Doo, Where are You! (The only episodes left to release are late 70's episodes)
Static Shock (Some episodes here and there are on DVD)
Superman: The Animated Series (One box set left, and the series will have fully been released on DVD)
The Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries
Teen Titans (Season 1 is out with Season 2 coming this fall)
That's Warner Brothers!
Tiny Toon Adventures
Transformers Cybertron (I think some episodes are already on DVD)
Waynehead
What's New, Scooby-Doo?
X-Men: Evolution (Seasons 1 and 2 have been on DVD for some time and season three will be out in time for X-3)
The Zeta Project
ˇMucha Lucha! (The first few episodes came out on DVD right before the final season premiered)

:p New record for my longest post and for the most time taken to type up!

I trust Joshua Lane; besides, Warner always sends out the info before the details. I'm actually a little surprised DVDActive or TVShowsOnDVD hasn't posted the news yet. In DVDActive's case, this title might not be big enough news to post. In TVShowsOnDVD's case, they might just be waiting for a synopsis or cover-art before they post it. Either way, we all get our info from the same source... in this case, Warner Brothers.

Achilles' Heel: I can give you the UPC code if that helps to "confirm" this news ;)

veemonjosh, that's a long list... I'd forgotten about a number of those shows. What would it take for me to see some for the first time?

How about to make this topic actually interesting while we wait for conformation, we discuss which Kids WB shows we'd like in sets that don't have them already (and if it's something like NT Warrior's case, don't put it on the list). Here's my list:

Johnny Test
Cubix
Earthworm Jim
Freakazoid!
Histeria
Jackie Chan Adventures
MIB: The Series
The Mummy
The New Adventures of Captain Planet
Road Rovers
Static Shock
Tiny Toon Adventures
Zeta Project
iMucha Lucha!

Then why post in a talkback about a box set if you don't want anything to do with it?

while we wait for conformationI have to admit, that was out of line. It's already been confirmed... Joshua Lane and Animated Bliss (synonymous titles) were (was?) right the first time.

How about to make this topic actually interesting, we discuss which Kids WB shows we'd like in sets that don't have them already (and if it's something like NT Warrior's case, don't put it on the list). That sounds lame... and off-topic.

Then why post in a talkback about a box set if you don't want anything to do with it?First of all, he came to rectify himself and his news. Secondly, he didn't say that he didn't want to do anything with the topic. Josh just doesn't care whether you believe his news... which is fact, by the way.

I was referring to whether or not you believed me... it's just not worth worrying about. One person's "news source" is another person's "never heard of that site, why should I believe them?" - it's cool :)

For some reason, the cover makes me think of bootleg DVDs (yes, I know this is real).

Swonker

I have to agree on the cover art. It just looks kind of bland, and for heaven's sake, at least put Jack and Wuya on there too. Last time I checked, they were main characters as well, albeit antagonistic ones. Then again, why am I complaining? I'm just happy that this excellent show is coming to DVD, and I'll end up buying it no matter what the cover art looks like.

Nothing has been announced since we first heard about this, but I'd doubt there'll be a commentary since this'll be released as a kids title (the DC shows and the Spielburg shows, which have commentary, are in the classics line.

You don't know what you're talking about. Warner produces all animation DVDs in the same "family entertainment" sector. There is no "classics" or "kids'" division.

There weren't any special features listed with the press release and the back cover for the DVD doesn't mention anything either. My guess is they aren't including any... although I'm sure there will be trailers and other things like that.

And from the clips that are available through Windows Media Player's "Media Guide" (plus a third clip on the site), the quality is great.
