View Full Version : C&C - InuYasha - The Great Duel at Shoun Falls [3/29]
I think there might be a duel at some waterfall this episode. Oh, and Kagome got kidnapped again.
Been a while since we've seen Red Tetsusaiga...And it'll still be longer. Dammit.
SHOCK! A Demon who doesn't like humans!

No prob.
Well, the crappiness of the heroes being defeated is made up by Miroku sucking up all 4 demon henchmen in his Wind Tunnel. WTG!
Yay! A Dead Zone!

Bout time. The poison insect schtick has gotten old.
I'm curious - is this a filler story arc or did it actually take place in the manga? These last few episodes almost seem like a sequel to the Inuyasha movie what with the appearance of the Hojo lookalike.

If you watch that scene w/ the bird demon guy trying to get the katana with the sound off you would swear it was gay hentai.

Plus the scene with the Gamera-ripoff grinding against InuYasha against the wall. Just imagine if IY had his face against the wall instead of his back...

Well I really thought the fight would last a little longer than that. Man camon these guys were ninjas. GEEEEEEEZ. The last episode was better than this.

.... Sadly, that was the highlight of the episode.

Meh, it was an okay episode. At least Shippo did something. Not a "great duel" as the title implied.
To Dub: Yes, this is a filler story arc but not sure if it follows up Inuyasha Movie 2.
This episodes gets a 2.5/5 for me.

There are a lot of animes that use the name of these four creatures (Sazuka the phoenix, Seiryu the dragon, Genbu the turtle, and Byakko the tiger): Beyblade, Fushigi Yugi, Rurouni Kenshin (manga), Yu Yu Hakusho...

Nope... the signals were coming through pretty clear. Add to these anecdotes the show's recent penchant for using "disturbingly gay villains," and Miroku's super-power, and you've got hours of fun on your hands. Even more than when S-cry-ed had the "Eternity Eight" bits going on.
In this episode in particular, you had bird-demon guy coming on to Akitoki, until Miroku... well, how did Miroku take care of him?
I swear.... First Inuyasha ran out of plot, and then it ran out of filler. Now it's just running "evil gay man of the week" episodes. Two weeks from now will be a real treat, when the fab five show up and kidnap Kagome, all so they can give the queer eye touch to Inuyasha while laughing maniacally. The part where he doesn't end up expressing his feelings at the end of the episode is really touching.

Well, episode 140. Only 26 more to go. But let's not dwell on that; there'll be plenty of time for that in September. On with it.
Was yoyoma or whatever his name was trying to take lessons from Naraku?
Sherlock Miroku; he's always the one figuring things out when Kagome isn't, anyone notice that?
Just keep your whatever-it-is in check this time, you Jakotsu wannabe.
I knew the pentagram was a demonic symbol. Well, Wicca too, but...
Byakko, Genbu, Suzaku, are these ninjas named after those demons from that house arc on Yu Yu Hakusho?
*edit after reading the thread* And I thought the big cartoon studios around here were unoriginal; these anime guys even keep using the same names over and over again. I assume the copyright laws regarding names are different across the lake? (as opposed to across the pond)
Well, if Myoga has to, although I guess being squished can't feel too good.
Ah, Shippou is alone with his vassal. Um, what did I tell you?
He's a turtle!
And he'll use the scales as projectiles to, yep, called it.
C'mon, Miroku, I know you're stronger than that.
I agree, Myoga; the end of the world.
He's, a, a phoenix chicken?
This yamiyumi guy has issues. And Kagome just might try to play psychotherapist.
Is this a filler arc? Because it's at least tangential to the main plot.
He could be InuYasha, apparently betrayed by Kikyo, and don't think Kagome hasn't thought of that.
The only good human is a dead human, I guess. Well, from what I've seen of humans on AS the past 12 months - Paranoia Agent, FMA, etc - I can't say I completely disagree.
Hey, maybe that yogiyama girl betraying sashimi was another Naraku trick?
Yep, another demon who figures, 'If I can't be happy, ain't no one gonna be happy, 'cause ain't no one gonna be around to be happy.'
Miroku and Sango can hear each other's thoughts? That's a sign of their developing relationship. Oh wait, I guess the group is still kind of together, just scattered across the falls.
Her idea of grabbing onto something is sticking her Hiraikotsu in the ground. Well, if it works.
They also must find Akitoki, or hasn't anyone noticed him missing? Well, aside from Inu, who wouldn't care.
There's the man on the flying trapeze, only without the trapeze.
Again, you forgot. You let them down, again.
Canned corn?
Wall separating heaven and Earth, remember what Naraku's looking for now? Are you certain this is filler?
Kind of black hole-ish, or maybe Miroku's finding out what it's like to be on the other side of the wind tunnel.
Yeah, he keeps fouling up, apologizing, taking responsibility, feeling sorry for himself - been there, tucky-tucky. It doesn't do any good!
Next week we wrap up this arc, same Inu-time, same Inu-channel.
Commercial post-script: those Axe people can't handle strong women; there's nothing wrong with Helga. And it was - I won't say 'nice', but interesting - to see Gamekillers commercials other than one-upper. I'm tempted to go to that web site, but the feeling will soon pass, I'm certain.

There's no copyright on names from Japanese folklore. Just like there's no copyright on the names Aladdin, Robin Hood, or Cinderella.

Once again it was a struggle to tay awake for this show and I'm a night person and have had insomnia for years but lately only on tuesday nights do I feel really damn tired. Not only that but this new line up before Inuyasha really sucks by the time 12:30 rolls around I'm already close to calling it quits on AS. And once again watching Inuyasha wakes me right up in a good and bad way.
What the hell was that all about? The whole episode was like a joke I laughed a few times and enjoyed it but all in all the writers must have lost it at some point. Inuyasha's fighting was pathetic and why isn't the tetsusaiga working again? Must have missed that explination. Hojo's trip up the waterfall was hilarious. Sanog basically sat back doing nothing when that so called ninja wasn't really attacking her, scales? I like tha Miroku, with help from Inuyasha saved the day that was the hghlight of the show.
Am I the only one sick of hearing about humans and demons not being able to love each other or demons constantly bad mouthing humans because they've bad experiences. Its so old and tired and that guy really put it on thick. Basically he got dumped and is being a sore loser about the whole thing. I'm guessing in the next show we'l find out why the woman trapped him. I kinda liked the idea of this plot at first take the sword to the mountains but now its taken a turn for really lame and I just want it to be over already.

Yeah, the four characters are named after the guardians of the four cardinal directions: Genbu (the black turtle/snake of the North), Suzaku (the red phoenix of the South), Seiryuu (the green dragon of the East), and Byakko (the white tiger of the West). Here's a link to read more about them (http://www.onmarkproductions.com/html/ssu-ling.shtml).
As to these episodes, it is nice to see an enemy other than Naraku every so often, but knowing how they ended the series, I wish they hadn't done all these filler episodes (although it was nice to directly tie in Movie 2 with the series).

So, the Kenkon no Naginata has the power to suck up the energy from an enemy's weapon and throw it back at them, and the power to cut a path to the netherworld.
Odd that the upgraded forms of Tessaiga and Tenseiga in the manga have exactly these powers, respectively. o_O Who's copying from who, here?

Why for reason the dead zone came to my mind after that scane?:anime: Just how long is this filler? I`m tire of it already. And why is it the villains in filler are stronger then the ones in cannon?

Finally got around to watching this one.
Interesting ninja characters and of course I noticed the ninja turtle. Pulling a Gamera no less.
