It's been months and they have yet to air anything past "The Fat Guy Strangler". Did their contract for any further new episodes expire or something?

It's likely that AS is holding off the new episodes of Family Guy until they have enough to run back-to-back for at least a couple of months.

How many new ones have they shown, really? The football one, the one about Quagmire getting married, and this new one where Lois got fat is all I remember. Maybe if Fox would quit trying to get FG canceled again by showing the new episodes *weeks* apart, AS would show new FG eps.

After "The Fat Guy Strangler" (The last new FG that AS has played) there have been 5 epsiodes of Family guy to air on FOX (bringing the regular episode count up to 72, mirroring Futurama). And those 5 episodes would be "The Father, The Son And The Holy Fonz" (The one where Peter's Dad returns and where Peter starts a religion devoted to the Fonz from Happy days while Stewie gets stuck inside a de-infection bubble), "Brian Sings And Swings" (Where Brian and Stewie become the "New Rat Pack" with Frank Sinatra Jr while Meg tries to become a lesbian to hang with her new female friend), "Patriot Games" (the football epsiode) "I Take Thee Quagmire" (Quagmire getting married) and "Sibling Riviarly (the latest episode where Lois gets really fat). And no, FOX isn't trying to cancel Family Guy again. They announce each and every time FG gets a new episode and promote just as much as every other show. Family Guy gets nearly as high in the ratings as the simpsons (if not sometimes higher) so there's no way it's going to be cancelled because of that. As for why they're stretching out the season, probably because they're waiting for more episodes to be made and only showing as much as they have to.

My guess, is that they are awaiting "American Dad's" Return and will air those together, maybe in May. I noticed too, when "The Boondocks" was airing new ones, the 2-3 new FG's left to air before the break didn't get promoted, thus giving it's new show the light while it's new episodes were airing, saving the rest of FG's until later, when there was more.

Bingo. Family Guy is one of FOX's big (if not biggest) cash crop right now, and there is no way they are going to let it go. As mentioned, the ratings are very strong, it's making ton's of money, and more is on the way. The 22 new episodes for next season are just the start, and assuming the rest of the season get's as high of ratings, 22-44 more will be announced soon.

Will they still make those episodes? There has to be some commitment level, and if there is I wish the FG people would start taking it seriously. American Dad has been getting better, but I bet a large number of Family Guy people now work for that show. Maybe the new ones need to learn a few things.

I'd like to see the ratings for some of the AS premieres of Family Guy! The first ten or so new episodes would probably get good ratings (i hope), but I'd like to see what the others get.

Considering there haven't even been 10 episodes past "The Fat Guy Strangler" I'd say they'd be doing pretty well if the next ten episodes got good ratings.

Actually, only Mike Barker and Matt Weitzmann went to American Dad.

A decline in quality is an opinion. I think it's every bit as good now as it was before. The latest episode was really good.
