Spanish Shake is surprisingly funny.

SpaceCowboy

Was that clip of Shake speaking Spanish actually from an existing Spanish dubbed version of ATHF, or was it just something Williams Street made just for that clip?

The Spanish Shake was funny, but reminds me of something:

That the ATHF movie, which I'm sure will be decent, pretty much has grab the audience and not let go to make-up for the extremely long time without new episodes (aside from those 3 new ones from awhile back). I don't think the quality in the last few seasons has dropped as much as some people claim (although the Mexican-Jumping-Beans-in-Shake's-Head was pretty bad) but unless this movie is all that and a truckload of bags of chips, or at least performs like it is, ATHF might not have that many new seasons in the future.

.....although considering the performance of some of AS's latest new series, the only real ratings grabbers they have are ATHF, RC, Boondocks, and the FOX shows, so it would be stupid to cease production on ATHF, even if the movie doesn't do that well, if it even goes to theaters and isn't direct-to-DVD, althought that might be reason enough to keep making more if sales are good , and I'm sure a bajillion others reasons pro- and con- that I've missed.....

My point in all that.....yeah, I guess I rambled there for awhile

will we never see millions again? :(

I'm sure we will. It's jsut that March usually dosen't garner the highest ratings. I'm sure the sweeps month will produce better ratings then just high 500's at the very least.

Why do the ultra late slots continually outperfom most before it? Are people really up at 2/3AM?

And now, AS has finally realized that saturday ratings will suck nomatter what they put there, so may as well give it back to anime.

Freedom Fighter

Theories about how both FMAs ended up on the Saturday Top 3:
1) A lot of people thought the finale was so awesome it was worth staying up another three hours to see it again.
2) A lot of people were confused about the finale being open-ended that they had to watch it again to make sure they didn't miss something.

KuwabaraTheMan
03-27-2006, 02:36 AM
3) A lot of people like me didn't get back in until after midnight and caught the repeat, making it mostly different viewers.

They aired the VB pilot? Argh, I missed it.

herbkir
03-27-2006, 10:27 AM
With Saturdays, AS can't give up the night. They still need it to log the necessary airtime hours to sustain AS as a separately-rated network. So they might as well make it all anime and count on the audience being loyal, if small. And they can spin that loyalty into an asset when marketing the network to advertisers. (The difference between sh*t and fertilizer is marketing.)

Still, the Saturday audience isn't really that small considering how Sundays have fallen. Sundays outpulled Saturdays 2:1, which is normal. But nothing topped 600K on 3/19 and for a Sunday comedy lineup, that's horrid. They're probably hoping Sundays will pick up once new episodes start running and March Madness is over. (^_*)

Sketch
03-27-2006, 08:11 PM
Losing an hour in the whole week shouldn't keep them from being it's own network. They got Sunday 10-11PM as extra I believe and if that doesn't count then the expansion to weekdays certainly gives them more than enough time to cut back Saturday by an hour or even more.

Duke
03-27-2006, 11:49 PM
Yea, the writing's on the wall that AS Saturdays is going to be cut down by at least an hour pretty soon. I don't think they'll give up the 12AM-2AM hours pretty soon, due to GitS premieres and other stuff, but it's obvious AS doesn't care about the first hour anymore.

That wouldn't bode well for Eureka 7, that's alot of episodes to burden with carrying the night. They still need a lead in, I think the block will get an overhaul before the first hour goes kaput.

But then down from the heavens desends the show about Chuck Norris,
Talking about his team in it's intro chorus.

I hope anyone expecting Inuyasha tunes in to watch Chuck and actually put it on top of the ratings for next week. Wonder if the rest of the night will be Chuck or they'll switch it up with Super Globtrotters and Gary Coleman.

I said it last night: That was the greatest night in AS history.

It started out normally, when the InuYasha bump came as usual, but then... "CHUCK NORRIS! MAN OF ACTION!" Oh, man. Classic.

And, then, GITS hits. It seems like a normal episode until... *fart noise* And, here we go again. This one got mixed opinions, and I do respect those opinions, but I was loving every second of it.

FMA got the same treatment, but it wasn't quite as good the second time around. Maybe because I was still recovering from the GITS fiasco.

Then, we got the same GITS ep, untouched. The joke seemed to be over. But wait, no... here's Boo Boo running wild.

And, then, to top off the insanity, the awesomeness that is Mr. T shows up, fresh off his appearance on Boomerang earlier in the day.

In short, plus 10 for originality, add another several billion for execution. Best April Fools' prank ever.
