On GITS: SAC episode 8 "Missing Hearts" Major attacks a mafia man in retribution for some people.

I noticed that there was a lot of blood, which signifies that she could have cut a vital organ.

But, he was alive! Shivering out of fear in the car.

So, why was there a lot of blood and he wasn't dead?

Actually, she stabbed a pipe which then sprayed water, though for some reason the water had a red tint to me.
