Using the amazing Zap2It, I decided to take a peek into what CN may have up their sleeve for us on April Fool's Day. Here's the results I found:
From 12:30PM (why can't it just be noon? *shrug*) to 7PM, they air a rotating marathon of Ed, Edd n' Eddy and The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.
First that wonderful upfront, now this. Isn't it amazing how CN is fully prepared this year?

A watchable line-up? That has to be a joke.

Doesn't sound like much of an April's fool day joke. A REAL joke would be something like:
- Instead of the normal Toonami programming, they air episodes of My Little Pony, Jem, Smurfs, and Snorks, complete with Toonami bumpers.
- A Saved By the Bell marathon
- Promising 'New' episodes of Smurfs, only they're just the already seen episodes with the original openings.
- A Bobobo marathon

Heh. I hate those shows. Perfect 4/1 joke. :D :D
No, a perfect April Fool's joke would be to air one Screwy Squirrel episode through most of the day. That would be awesome.

LOL I remember when they pull that one. I also remember they were reporting the news of the take over in a ticker during the cartoon.

Nowadays, networks use special events and some holidays as excuses to air irrelevant marathons. Isn't that nice?

They could just air live action movies all day. You know those jerks would too.:ack:

I certainly would have hoped the "Dumb and Dumber" movie add was a joke...
They should air a 24 hour cycle of the Wulin Warriors rap.
It could work >_>

i thnik there should be a bobo marathon on toonami, otherwise, nothing to complain about

Isn't that what they did on MLK Day?
And Valentine's Day?
And President's Day?
And yesterday?
Honestly, I could make a better April Fool's Day schedule with my eyes shut.
And I will (and for the record, Tobias, that Toonami replacement? not funny. We still have Castle in the Sky that night for the unwashed masses):
12:30 - 1:30 PM: Ed, Edd, and Eddy
1:30 - 2:30 PM: Billy and Mandy
2:30 PM - 4 PM: Cartoon Cartoons
4 - 7 PM: April Fool's Day (mishmash of Tex Avery, Robotic Stooges, Kwicky Koala, Krazy Klaw, What A Cartoons!, and Looney Tunes, hell, I'd sneak in a TV-PG episode or two of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Harvey Birdman or Sealab 2021 just to shock some folks)

What about an all-day Yoko!Jakamoko!Toto! marathon? lol
That sounds like the kind of April Fool's joke CN would pull, play a cartoon that just about EVERYBODY and his Dog, Spot, hates.

If there was a sense of humor like it was circa 1997, then I could imagine them doing something like that. A show where the only dialogue is Yoko! Jakamoko! Toto! would rule as an evil April Fool's joke.

I wish they'd commemorate the day by showing all their great old cross-show promos.
Dang, I wish CN still made those!

I'd hate to think they were going to announce the prank in advance. But the last few years they've not really had one, so this year likely won't be any different.

Don't Forget Weekday From 4-6. Miguzi hasn't been Billy and Mandified (but if KND can air there, maybe one day so will B&M).
You know what would be a cool idea? Instead of showing any shows on April Fools day, they just had slots for the various advertisements Cartoon Network has had for it's 14 years on TV. I mean the old promos/little toons that everyone misses and will never air on TV again. You would still have the regular commericals but then you'd have stuff like Cartoon Survivor and Bebebooboodeedee and the like.

Well at least they're taking the chance to run some episodes of Ed, Edd n'Eddy, they're best original series ever. Sucks about airing Billy and Mandy, though.

anyone remember the BTAS: Joker Marathon a few yrs back? Twas a good day
i wouldn't expect anything crazy from CN now because they'd hate to peeve off advertisers w/ programming noone would watch.
Also, don't forget that April Fools Day is on a Saturday this year, which means fewer people than usual will be turning in except in the morning and at night, which are two areas CN doesn't wanna mess with. Had this been on a weekday, we probably would've gotten something different.

Nevertheless, Cartoon Network has lost its taste and couldn't pull a great April Fools' Day prank if it wanted to.

Not to throw cold water on you guys, but I think Billy and Mandy getting all this exposure is a good thing. Not many cartoons these days have the edge that one does.
Yea. Weeknights from 11PM (soon to be 10:30PM) to 6AM and Saturdays from 7PM-11PM.
Someday they'll make an adult Billy and Mandy for Adult Swim, an action kid oriented Billy and Mandy for Miguzi, and a middleground action Billy and Mandy for Toonami. That way, they'll achieve their ultimate goal...
We'll be tortured by the Billy and Mandy Network.

I gotta agree with Martianinvader, these are two of Cartoon Network's better and funnier original series. Sure, some people would rather see other series, but that could be said no matter what CN or any other network airs.

Not to throw cold water on you, but it's getting beat to death Spongebob-style. It's on all the time, morning, noon, and night. Also, it's about two quarts of bitter in a one-pint bottle. I'd rather they go back to bludgeoning Teen Titans to death.

On April Fool's Day (in the AM hours), the midnight hour through the early AM hours isn't clear on what's airing (normally, Fridays repeats -- but Dumb and Dumber isn't scheduled to be airing a third and fourth time). Of course, this could be an error -- or maybe not.
What would be a great April Fools prank? Air the normal schedule, but add Relax-o-Vision to everything!

during adult swim they should play miguzi shows, during toonami they should play adult swim shows, and during miguzi they should play toonami shows. or any combo of mixing up tose 3 programing blocks up with eachother.

I was going to suggest Wulin Warriors but someone beat me too it. Boomerang has the guts to do a weird april fool's day marathon just because noone's watching it. Noone watches most of CN on Saturdays. Why can't they do the same. Those two shows seem to have a marathon every day so why not show something like Sheep in the Big City. (There was this one person I knew who was really obsessed with that show and I watched it a few times. Liked the fake commercials!)

CN could air a whole day of typical Boomerang programming, and vice-versa.

Advertise all-day adult swim,,then air gary coleman, super globetrotters, chuck norris karate kommandos, baby blues, gigantor, yu yu hakusho, the popeye show, toonheads, the bullwinkle show (remember when those were on AS?), and the toonami-edited eps of Evangelion.

What possessed CN to schedule it there?
Though I can certainly believe us older folks make up the majority of Bulwinkle's audience (there's a strong nostalgia factor involved), no way is that show 'adult' in the same sense as the regular AS fare.

Adult Swim was much better than CN joke-wise this year...
But then again since the dawn of the 21st century CN has been going down hill everything-wise, including the April Fools jokes. They're too big of a corporate machine to do another Screwy Squirrel thing, while Adult Swim's alot more... not as much as a machine and can poke fun at the Anime fans.
Tsk tsk.
