Almost completely dialog-based, but it did a good job of advancing the story.

Anyone else find it funny that this episode is apparently titled (according to FNF) "A Very Venture Christmas"?

Crap, my other comments got deleted. Stupid server.

Anyway, I like the chemistry between the Prime Minister and the Chief. I just hope she doesn't die at the end of the season (NO SPOILERS!).

What peninsula are they talking about? Korea?

In the battle between the majority vs. the minority, the minority always wins. Just ask RPG makers if you think otherwise.

I thought it was "Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome"?

So the word assassins are ancient Muslim druggies? You learn something new every day!

Origami? o.O

They really need to get a progress bar or something. The damn thing crapped out on me twice, and it's annoying to fast-forward through the first 17 minutes to watch the last 3.

They played the Tachikomatic Days! Yay!!!!

Yeah, looks like they either got lazy or forgot to change it.

I just saw this in Japanese last week. It will be nice to understand better in English. Lots of dialogue in this one again. Although, the story is highly important and makes sense.

I love what Major does in this ep. Made me laugh.

The Prime Minister is the sole person that's not out for her own pseudo-megalomaniacal agenda.

Hell, even Section 9 thinks that their justice is the only justice. I'm almost glad Gouda's been making them look like assclowns.

LMAO! Go TOGUSA! Sorta like what Section 9 did to him...hahahahaha!

Does anybody remember when we were discussing how Batou was in America and that couldn't have been right if he was helping Japan? Well did you hear that? It seems they were over "unofficially"!

That's intro to Tachikomatic Days, and for some reason it's been left on the broadcast tape the past 3-4 weeks. If you watched the episode on Friday Night Fix, you can see the actual episode.

All the BLAH-BLAH-BLAH bored me to death, this was the first ep I actually walked out of the room half way through to do something else. I've tolerated all the talkiness of the show before because there woudl be at elast something there in an ep to make up for it, but I just couldn't stand it this time. It's an action show with a decent budget... would it kill them to actually DO something besides sit around and talk?

No, it's a talky show with some action put on to fill time. Just because it's in Adult Swim Action doesn't make the action the primary subject. After all, when it all amounts to it, violence hasn't really done anything at all for Section 9 except buy time. Pretty much every major situation has been solved via talking.

Well, the opening is full of action. It's kind of deceitful to have all that action in the opening when the actual show barely has any.

The opening doesn't have any action until the refrain kicks in. And that action, like the action in the first season OP, is based off the tank fight during one of the early episodes.

Indeed. Shirow was ahead of his time when he first created the GiTS manga. His counter-terrorist organisation spends more time information gathering and applying pressure to politicians, than shooting at people.

I am sorry that you are not getting what you want, silvanoir. But Section 9 isn't really a military organisation. They fight people who uses espionage, so they themselves use espionage.

And if you ever get a job in the CIA or FBI, keep in mind that you would be doing a lot of talking instead of shooting too. Those who want action can join the army instead.

You know, I saw this episode when it aired back in Japan, so it was nice to know what they were talking about. However, it meant I already knew who the crane folding boy Motoko knew was when I saw ep 6.

Okay, I got the first half of the episode... it's basically all of the government officials clawing at each other, not able to agree on the best plan of action or who should get the credit if it succeeds.

The second half... when Batou, Togusa, and the others warp their minds back to the past (World War IV)... I'm guessing this has something to do with how refugees came to be in Japan now, but it seemed to center around that little army who was left by their government to fend on their own because of the media blackout. Anyone care to explain what was going on?

6.5 out of 10 for "Another Chance."

Ah the next episode has some weird scene, I wonder if it will be cut.

Um, I know this is kinda OT, but can anyone explain to me precisely what a "prosthetic body" is? I've never quite figured it out...

A body created using plastics or metal instead of flesh. While we only have primitive prosthetic arms and legs right now, that has advanced by leaps and bounds in the GitS world.
