In the arcade version of Mortal Kombat 1:
Fight Goro as Johny Cage and leave him with as little energy as possible to.....
Finish him off with his "cheap shot split" move, Goro will groan and will stomp on you for a few times, pose for the camera with his grin.....and fall down defeated afterwards.
Fight Shang Tsung with Subzero and wait untill he turns into Goro, freeze him...now throwing another freeze would sound like Suicide, but if you do it again Shang will revert to his old self and still frozen!
Anybody else want to share a few glitches and fun stuff that most people don't know?

There was this guy in Mos Espa in the Star Wars Episode 1 game that would go "STOP PUSHING ME" if you walked into him or force pushed him and if you did it a lot he'd die and it would be funny.

99999999 Gold on breath of Fire 1
it literaly costs you nothing to even aquire, and once you have it you can buy anything and it doesn't mess any part of the game up and can be done multiple times
Infinate Grenade Rounds in Resident Evil 1 Remake
This one is very fun, any type of grenade round can be made to do this. Once you have it you can pretty much destroy anything(including the formerly indestructile boss to an extent)
Infinate Ammo on Resident Evil 2: Dualshock
same as above, only it's any type of ammunition
100 Ultima Junction in Final Fantasy 8
not really a cheat, but sure as hell makes you unstoppable if you junction it with Power to characters and can be amplified with their ultimate weapons. Then again any element that a boss is weak to can do this, the draw system allows to amass a high number of spells very quickly. You cane ssentialy get rid of any difficulty in the game by doing this.
Final Fantasy 6 invis+ Doom/X-Dimention
pretty much makes 95% of boss fights one round, it's instant destruction

A noteworthy glitch would have to be the Matilda glitch from Suikoden II.
When you are supposed to go the Sindar ruins with Alex, you can choose to go the closed gate that leads to the Matilda region. Since the gate is closed and the guards tell you that you cannot go through, it's obvious that you're not supposed to be in Matilda. However, you can push on the gate to go through and you are in! If your characters can fight off the really strong enemies from this glitch, they will be overpowered until the halfway point and Futch and Humphrey will join you early. Lots of fun! :D

That could actually get kinda creepy. If you killed somone, all of Mos Espa came after you.

I'd love for Nintendo to create a real Missingno. That would be friggin awesome.
Oh wait, it would just be a crappy Gastly rip-off with sucky stats and one or two godly moves that make people want to use it despite it being so, so, very crappy.

They could make a pokemon movie about it, it could be a conglomerate of all the dead pokemon spirits who have comeback for vengence
but it wouldn't be Missingno anymore, it would be given a number after that

Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire
-Shooting down the other snowspeeders
-Letting two Wampa's attack each other
-Shooting a human enemy who's close to the edge of a platform and hearing the scream

Especially Jawas. There were these two Jawas hiding out near Anakin's house near a blaster, and since I needed the ammo, I went up to take it, but they turned around and shot me. I fought back, and I was given the name "Jawa Killer".
also
HEY YOU STOP WALKING ON MY DUNG WORMS
and in shadows of the empire it was fun to just fly around and see if your friends could beat the battle of hoth, and destroying the rebel turrets was fun too

I think one promo TCG card of Missingno would be fitting. Just for awesomeness factor.

It's by no means a glitch or a cheat, but few things in gaming have ever been as cool as discovering the infinite lives trick (where you hang out next to a Goomba-generating pipe with the Racoon Tail and bop as many of them as you can without touching the ground-- there was also a version involving the undead Koopa Troopas as I recall) in Super Mario Brothers 3 for the first time.

I found an embarassing one in Condemned: Criminal Origins on the XBOX 360. When you kill an enemy then nudge him with your foot, his corpse slides across the room slowly. :D

What is this Missingno thing that keeps getting mentioned in this thread?

In a level with a lakitu, just throw a shell in an open space between two objects and whenever the shell kills a spiny you get an extra life.

It's a glitch that appears just like any other pokemon in the original Red and Blue versions. When caught it will max out items in your inventory but certain other graphics thoroughout the game begin to mess up along with your Hall of Fame but the major problem is that your file might get erased. I decided to catch this glitch and it did eventually erase my file.
IIRC, you fly to Cinnabar from Pallet Town (or you Surf, I forget), and go up and down the eastern edge/shore. You will get a bunch of glitches including Missingno, which was created when NoA took out Mew. Basically, it looked like a couple columns of data (kinda like Gastly without the black ball). You could also find Level 120 Nidorinos and other such Pokémon there.

Can't believe I forgot the uber-items glitch in Final Fantasy 6. When sketching certain enemies with Relm, the screen would go all wonky. Sometimes the game would lock up or crash, but if you managed to escape from the battle (it was nearly impossible to win when you couldn't read the menus), the screen would return to normal and there'd be oodles of every conceivable item in your inventory. Playing through the rest of the game with everyone equipped with Paladin Shields and Atma Weapons was great fun, and it may be the only point in history in which Relm was anything but a complete waste of space-- I don't care WHOSE daughter she is. So the Japanese games had Mew?
And I've seen websites that showed the sprites of different forms of Missingno, most noticable two fossil forms. Are those authentic and did they spring from the same process?
So the Japanese games had Mew?
Apparently, Mew was available in the trash can in a secret area next to the S.S. Anne that you needed to Surf to. I forget if you needed to catch all 150 Pokémon or not, though. It's been so long, though, that I have no clue if that was actually true (especially since I got 2 Mews from Nintendo during one of their tours.

This is Missingno:

Apparently, it also appears in Gold/Silver, and it transports you to Glitch Town. No clue if it's in Ruby/Sapphire as well.

Best glitch ever was in a beta version of an Amiga game called "Savage!" (it ran on other platforms). In this beta sideways scrolling beat em up, if on level 1 you ran left instead of the expected right, it would bring up a desperate message screaming "WRONG WAY!!'. Ignore the message and you'd turn into a bat, fall through the floor until you made it through the level and then win the entire game.
I don't think it got past this beta stage.
The whole thing was made even more amusing by the games confident scream of "SAVAAAGGGE!" on the opening screen. Savage it was. Primitive, even.
Another great Amiga foul up was the loooong awaited Epic. A game which was the biggest rip off of Battlestar Galactica you've EVER seen. However, if you FAILED one of the early missions, you proceeded to one of the later ones and missed several levels, only to win more easily with no apparent penalty.
Weird eh?

It also appears in yellow. I saw it, and I got a lot of items from it.

Use this cheat, but use a Channeler as the 2nd trainer. Missingno will appear.

You got lucky. Supposedly, the glitch occurs when Relm tries to sketch that jungle kid(Gau was his name I believe). One of three possibilities can occur. Your party dies, you get the above mentioned inventory bonuses, or all your saved games get erased. I'm not sure what the odds are of which of the three occuring, but I probably wouldn't take the risk considering the third possibility. Of course, this is on the SNES version, I'm not sure if the glitch has been corrected at all in the rereleases.

Missingno has nothing at all to do with Mew, he is just a place holder to prevent the game from crashing if it tries to access a value that isn't assigned to an existing Pokemon. For some reason that part that you surf on is coded to access Pokemon from the last area you were in (instead of just being assigned to the usual water Pokemon). That is why you have to talk to the old man before flying to Cinnabar Island (so it switches the value to whatever it was during that battle).

To refresh your memory, it wasn't. The only thing there is a truck & that's the way it's been in every version (Green/Red/Blue/Yellow).

Another creepy TPM glitch- the character's faces were basically just photos of the actors. In a cut scene, if the camera rotated behind a character and got too close you were then faced with this creepy flat on photograph staring back at you.
So the Japanese games had Mew?
Yeah, you got MEw if you got all 150 pokemon in your pokedex, and went to visit Game Frekas in game office. Instead of getting a silly diploma thing, you got mew

Huh. Never thought about trying to sketch Gau. I've gotten the glitch to work against certain enemies on the Floating Continent and also against whats-his-face, the boss inhabiting the island just north of Strago and Relm's hometown in the World of Ruin where you have to collect all the coral for the stupid talking treasure chest. In both cases I've seen it lock up or crash the game, but I've never had any saved games get erased. However, I've heard of several different versions of the glitch, so I wouldn't be surprised at the symptoms you described, either.
And yeah, I'm just thinking about the SNES version, I haven't tried it in the Anthologies version, although it seems to work the same way if you play the game using a shady means that rhymes with "phlegmulation." (-:
