View Full Version : Daxter apparently got it's first review

IGN gave the game a 9.0, I'm interested to hear what the other reviews say about the game, but I wasn't expecting it to get a score that high. Apparently the game flows the same as the Jak games and the control scheme works well for the PSP.

Apparently it contains a bit more platformer elements than the Jak games though, so it's not as action oriented(Daxter also has some sort of super backpack instead of a gun, so I guess it's expected). You can also apparently save anywhere as well.

I guess this could shape-up to be the first great original 3D platformer of the new handeld generation.

I heard it takes place in accordance with the two year period where Jak was captured in the beginning of Jak 2.

I hope they eventually make a Jak 4, though, probably for PS3. Jak X was basically a sidestory.

I enjoyed the demo for Daxter and will pick up a copy soon, but I will probably wait a few weeks since I will be picking up MGS3: Subsistence this Tuesday and then the following week Obilivion will absorb my life.

It's worse than you think. This Tuesday Capcom is also re-releasing Phoenix Wright. If you don't get it now, you never will.

Nobody has reported on it because they figure no one is interested. The eBay prices say otherwise.

Daxter is currently the only PSP game I have some interest in. I still won't get a PSP anytime soon though, but I want to at least play the game just so I can unlock them secret characters from Jak X and understand more of the story in the Jak series (well, the ones that took place before Jak 3 as during that game and beyond, I more or less lost interest).
