Well, we heard last year about "A" game, but now there's to be more of them, starting with the First "Family Guy" game this fall.

I won't judge until the game is released, as i Did with "The Simpsons" games.
Just another sign of it's ever rising popularity.

Another Reason (You no who) Neads to save Family Guy. :crying:
This surd of bin made by HAL Laboratory Inc. and or Nintendo EAD and sold by Nintendo,But it's being made 2K (a game maker in The US) and everyone will think it will stink like Most Games base on some thing made in The US.
P.S:Nintendo & Sega(Sammy) are best friends now,it will happin if done.

OK,
1. "Family Guy" was never shown in Japan, so I don't think HAL or Nintendo EAD would've made it.
2. If TMS had "saved" Family Guy, It would have better animation, but the same lame writing.
And 3. LEARN TO SPELL! I know you're 15 but, Did you drop out of grade school or something?

I guess I am curious, but I'll hold off judgment until it comes out.
Still, we don't even know what this game will be like! You'd think they'd let us know if it's a platformer or a racing game or something. No screenshots can be pardoned, but what worries me is that by not saying ANYTHING about the game, it seems to point to the possibility that the developers are just going into this with no clear plan or idea.
Still, I'll wait to see if there's any other information and if it's good, I might rent it.

I can't even think of anything in FG that would really lend itself well to a video game.

Me neither, unless it was a Simpsons Hit and Run style of game.

1. Pc-Famicom: This is about video games and not about the Family Guy TV show. Do not de-rail this thread into a topic YOU want to talk about. This isn't the place for personal crusades. Keep your animation concerns to yourself and keep to the relevant topic.
2. We don't need to make personal comments about people's spelling. Some people can spell well, some people cannot. Some people have problems in spelling, some have lacked education. Who knows, but the point is, not to start pointing fingers. If his post offends, don't read it. Put him on ignore. Your choice, that's what the forum software is there for. No call outs on spelling.

What the deuce?
What exactly could they do with Family Guy in a videogame? Have Peter and his family go across Quahog to stop an alien invasion or something?

Always has been Ein. In your control panel, there is buddy/ignore list. It will prevent members on the ignore list from showing on the board when you are logged in, just as when one uses block on AIM, blocked people don't appear in chats.
Unfortunately, you can't put rampant liberal mods like myself on that ignore list. You have to carry on suffering my ilk I'm afraid. ;)

Hey...I'm 15 and my spelling is nearly flawless...
Anyways, I could see this working somehow. If The Simpsons (a show more grounded in reality [as if either were]) could get games will acceptable concepts (more or less), then surely Family Guy can.
Plus, we might actually get a boss fight with the Chicken Man. That alone makes the idea of a Family Guy game worth it.

$50 for a playable chicken man fight? I'd just go with making them in wrestling games if I wanted recreate that "classic" scene.

All I can say to that is 'pfft!' It'll be either a 3D platformer about jumping on people's heads to save the world or some kind of racing game. All games based on prime-time cartoon shows like this end up like that.
An RPG would be cool, but it would also take effort, and one thing that a two-bit operation with a TV show licence can't afford to spend is effort.

I think a Family Guy game would only work as an adventure game like Space Quest, I can't see it working any other way.

Could work but would inspire a lot of Sims knockoffs in the future for other properties.

Licenced games rarely make any signifigant impact, I mean for example Simpson's Road Rage in no ways took over Grand Theft Auto's slot of influence.
I mean there have always been licenced games that take heavy influence from existing ones, but rarely do they turn out worthwhile.
So I was just suggesting a genre that could probably be a good short-term fit, I mean the Sims allows for much deprevity and horseplay
Also I don't think you could MIlk the Sims any worse than EA has already

Here's an idea: Don't make a family guy game.
I can't even conceive what the game would even be about. Lets only hope it doesn't turn out as bad as the Futurama game did.

That's probably what's going to be made...except bad. Super Mario 64 and Family Guy emphatically do not mix.

The sad thing is that Family Guy, The Simpsons...Hell, even King of the Hill, would all make a great adventure game if done right. But the genre is now niche, so no dice.

Ah yes, I can see it now- The Drunken Clam is facing financial closure. Depressed, Peter learns that Mayor West is holding a Great Clam Race and the prize money is enough to easily save the Drunken Clam! Peter and the other characters all enter the race for various reasons (Stewie hoping to use the money in some evil plot, etc) and all hoping to win the jackpot.

Rarely, but not impossible. Suppose Family Guy does get made into a Sims type game. Practically every gamer/Family Guy fan will race to nab their hands on a copy. The industry will see how much the fans are eating this up and soon come up with games featuring the daily lives of Disney characters, anime, or maybe even a Star Wars version! It'll then come to a point where these kinds of games are getting too out-of-hand and could kill the uniqueness of a particular game altogether. Mario Party came out on the N64 followed by its many sequels, the industry took a look at it, then came out with their own version of party games with other licensed characters. Same deal with Mario Kart.
What I'm getting at is that I wish the game industry would focus on more original ideas instead of just always ripping off every unique concept just for money! It's getting to the point where a lot of crap is taking up shelf space and turning away gamers like me!

No console game or any video game incarnation of the Simpsons could ever match up to the brilliance that is the Simpsons arcade game!

That's why I excluded the arcade game from my post since it stands up a lot better nowadays then Bart vs the Space Mutants ever could.

Hit and Run was the one that was trying to rip off Grand Theft Auto. Road Rage was trying to rip off Crazy Taxi.

Hmmm... what about a 2D or 3D shooting stage where Sperm Stewie flies around shooting other sperm? Or a cross-country chicken fight? Or Stewie vs. evil cult master in Metal Gear Solid sneaking style? Or Peter vs. Mel Gibson on the top of Mt. Rushmore? Or Peter driving frantically through Las Vegas to find the synagogue where Chris will get Jew-ified? Or a GTA-style "Coffee" mode where Brian directs porno? Or a PaRappa-style mode where you tap the buttons to make Stewie & Brian sing? Or taking control of the punks who threw raw meat at Meg in a Virtual Bart "tomato throwing"-style mode? Or a lottery mode in the Indian casino? Or Lois vs. two identical Peters? Or Joe in the disabled Olympics?
There are actually quite a few possibilities. ;)

All I can see is this being another Mario Party clone, but less fun than Chef's Luv Shack.
