Thousands of years ago, when the Earth was still young, specific humans became Shaolin warriors. Then aliens threatened the world with a lawsuit for using the word shaolin. The humans decided to rename the art with an X because the letter X makes everything cool (Megaman X, Sonic X, Xaunat, Red X, ect.). Thus the word xiaolin was born. Then the first Xiaolin Showdown over the legendary Shen Gong Wu took place between Grand Master Dashi and the evil sorceress, Wuya. Grand Master Dashi won and imprisoned Wya in a Puzzle Box. Dojo, his faithful dragon, then hid all the Shen Gong Wu across the planet. The world was at peace, until a young, self-proclamed mastermind named Jack Spicer was given a Puzzle Box... Now it is up to four Xiaolin Dragons (in-training) to stop Wuya, Jack, and many others from using the Shen Gong Wu for evil.

Disclamer: I have just found out that xiaolin IS a correct spelling, but, I still like my version of it better.
For whoever is curious, this is what this post originally said:
I figure I should make this topic. Xiaolin Showdown is now on CN, starting from episode 1, at the following times:
6:00 PM EST
9:30 PM EST (is this a permenent timeslot?)
So, even though my post lacks a picture or something fancy, discuss!

"The Journey of a Thousand Miles" isn't one of my favorite episodes, but it provides a pretty good introduction to the series. Dojo's voice in the pilot grates a lot, and Omi using the Two-Ton Tunic to jump across the stones during the showdown is ridiculous. First, how he can even move if it weighs two tons, and second, why would he use it for the whole showdown? Jack could've easily won. I did like, however, when Omi used all the little things that his fellow Xiaolin Dragons-in-training taught him earlier in the episode for the showdown (ex. "It's not your weight, it's how you throw it around. Honor the power of the off switch, etc.).
Things really start to pick up by the fifth episode "Shen Yi Bu," but I won't spoil anything to those who haven't seen it yet.
I'll be back tomorrow for "Like a Rock!"

Funny story... for some reason, this seems to be the first time I've seen "Like a Rock!" in it's entirety... to my knowledge, I only remember seeing no more than the last ten minutes in all of my previous viewings.
Despite that, for some reason this episode was really enjoyable than most of the Season 3 episodes, because you can honestly feel the uneasiness of the Xiaolin team, still getting used to their mission of gathering the Shen Gong Wu. And Jack Spicer isn't as whiny as he is now... I've gotten tired of the weak Jack, honestly.

Interview with creator Christy Hui. About a year old, but the first one I've seen. http://www.timeforkids.com/TFK/kidscoops/story/0,14989,672293,00.html

I've already seen season 1 & 2 on KidsWB. But it's good to see it on CN, though I don't know why they didn't it two years ago, cause right now I'm waiting to see the last two episodes of season 3.

Okay, was tonight's (Tuesday's) episode the first episode? Because anyway it was effing great. Really funny stuff, especially with the mime, and the character interactions were skillfully written. I'll have to tune into this more often.

Two slots and one is an encore... but the first slot is on 5 times a week and the encore is only 4. Oh CN... why do you always make these things so hard for yourself?

The first episode I catch on CN just happens to be the only one I've seen before, isn't that lucky.

Monday - #1 "The Journey of a Thousand Miles"
Tuesday - #2 "Like a Rock!"
Wednesday - #3 "Tangled Web"
Thursday - #4 "Katnappé!"
Friday - #5 "Shen Yi Bu"
#1 is the introduction of the characters, #2 and #4 are Clay-focused, #3 is Kimiko-centric and introduces a new villain, #5 stars Raimundo and another a new villain debuts.
And I agree about the cast and how they play off each other... easily the best thing about the series.

Yeah, at first it appears as though Omi is the odd man out gettng ragged on by the others, but each of them has been taken down a notch by their little clique separately at different times.

"Tangled Web" is the episode that made me watch all the others. Yes I'm a Kimiko fan.:D
The fact that this has reached CN and I can see it regularly is great. This is a funny show. :anime:

KidsWB is annoying in their rerun, they present episode one then skip to episode 5... I think I saw episode 5 like ten times and I just started watching the show like last september for god sake! Off course you have to count the weekday run too...
I saw the episode with the mime and the introduction of Katnappé like once only. I'm not I even remember 'Tangled Web' what was the plot of that one?

Not a fan of Catnappe, she seems so cliche. A cat burgler who is like a cat, how very original. The rest of the episode is good though, and I guess they did have to get rid of the Tiger Claws, way too over powerful to be anything more than a one off. Of course Omi could have taken it for a spin before sending it to the center of the Earth but whatever.

I saw the episode with the mime and the introduction of Katnappé like once only. I'm not I even remember 'Tangled Web' what was the plot of that one?'Tangled Web' opens with Kimiko losing a showdown to Jack for the Monkey Staff. The trip to Scotland isn't a total loss for the monks, though, as in Loch Ness they retrieve the Tangled Web Comb. The inability to control that Shen Gong Wu, as well as losing the aforementioned showdown, gets the boys ribbing on Kimiko hard, playing the 'girls are weaker' card. That's not Kimiko's problem, though, as Master Fong deduces... it's the fact that her hotheadedness and lack of focus are hurting her.
Throughout the episode, Kimiko tries to ignore Omi and the boys' calls of her being weak while overcoming her focus issues. It all comes to a head in a showdown against Jack for the Golden Tiger Claws at the end. Kimiko wins the showdown, and the respect of her male teammates... mostly.
Katnappé appears for the first time too, as she stumbles into Jack's lab during his parents' houseparty (funny how that's the only time they're ever mentioned), but she doesn't don her catsuit 'til the end. At the beginning, she's in regular, everyday clothes (though she's not identified by her real name, Ashley, until today's episode, 'Katnappé!').

Looks like they are using a slot at 5:30PM on Sunday for an encore of Fridays 6PM episode. Interesting choice... but it gets the job done I guess.

Oooh NOW I remember that ep. Didn't Jack's father send him the puzzle box with Wuya inside? And isn't Jack's mom mentionned often? Altough I wonder why they never react to anything their son do? Especialyl when it results in the house being damaged XD.
How do they get the Golden Tiger Claws back anyway?? I never saw that...or how Wuya escaped the first time and Omi got back to the present from his trip to visit Dashi.

I only saw Eps 2 & 3 this week. And my memory's is too fuzzy for someone my age... honestly, I need help.
When Jack opens the box in Ep 1, that's the first time Wuya escapes since being placed in it. As for how Omi got back to the present... um, better spoiler box it in case there's anyone here watching XS for the first time, as this occurs in Ep 15 (and why's he in the past is Ep 14)...Omi uses the Orb of Tornami to freeze himself in a block of ice (shades of Aang of 'Avatar,' now that I think of it), and unfreezing just in time to spring his fellow monks and Jack out of Wuya's prison.

It was Jack's father who gave a Jack Bot the Puzzle Box to give to Jack.
Also, I will be redoing my first post in a format I hope to use if I continue to do these talkbacks.
Edit: I have redone my first post, and I LOVE it!
