Monday: "Fantastic Voyage" -- The Straw Hats finnally make it to the Grand Line! But are the rumors about this place true? What dangers await them in this dangerous sea lane?
Tuesday: "Baroque Works" -- It turns out a dangerous group of bounty hunters called "Baroque Works" are about to attack the Straw Hats. But will Zolo be able to stop them? And who is this Princess Vivi?
Wednesday: "Luffy v.s Zolo" -- When some higher up Baroque agents arrive, ready to fight, Zolo's gonna need all the help he can get. Unfortiantly, he has to settle a dispute with Luffy first. And who exactly is this "Mr.0"?
Thursday: "Escape From Misty Peak" -- The time to escape Misty Peak is now! And the plan to deliver the princess to her kingdom of Alabasta is set. But will one of the most powerful Baroque agents allow them to leave?
Friday: "Saving Nami" -- With Nami suddenly getting a terrible fever, the crew has decided to detour their trip to Alabasta, in favor to get her to a doctor. The crew needs to find an island with medical help... But can Nami make the trip?

Fantastic Voyage, the biggest hack job in all of One Piece. The details... To cut out two whole arcs (one of which no one is sad is gone) and a few other short stories they practically re-animated this episode by splicing clips from previous episodes and mess with the lip flap. They also ommited Laboon the whale by turning him into an iceberg which Luffy just blows up with a cannon ball (originally Luffy shot the whale and the Going Merry was swallowed by Laboon. This is also where they original met Mr. 9 and Ms. Wednesday. Despite changing the whale to an iceberg... they left in the sound of a whale moaning that you hear when the crew is going over the red line. Originally the Straw Hats got their log pose from an old man who is treating Laboon from the inside but in the dub they edited in clips from previous episodes making it seem as Yasopp gave Usopp a log pose (aka Grand Compass) and he just realizes it in the middle of this episode and that Chef Zeff told Sanji how to use one. If you watch the clips they mesh together to explain all that mess you'll notice they play out a little awkwardly.
This episode is where most of the plot is tweaked to suit the removal of Battleship Island (aka Apis arc which is filler), and Laboon, Little Garden.
Actually Apis is suppose to happen right after Logue Town but they managed to ommit it pretty well so Logue Town goes straight into the Grand Line. Had this been the only change and they had at least left in Buggy's adventures that happen between Arlong and Logue Town and maybe Usopp vs Daddy in Logue Town... far less people would be mad about the episode cuts in One Piece. But the complete ommission of Little Garden (besides a breif shot later) along with Nami supposedly getting bit by a jungle bug (which would have happened during Little Garden) along her sudden knowledge of Mr 3. in "Heading for Disaster" pushes a lot of folks over the edge. Originally One Piece was a pretty bad or at least mediocre dub with some strange edits here and there. At this point, it becomes a hack job.

So - out of curiosity, about how many episodes were cut out of OP starting here? If 4Kids cut out entire storyarcs it sounds like quite a bit...

They've cut around 30 total a bit of that happened before this episode. Such as one episode spliced out in the Black Cat pirates arc and several snipped in Alrong for various reasons. Apis is 8 episodes. I forget how long Little Garden is, plus there's the two Buggy episodes and Laboon. So I'd say about 24 episodes were cut between Logue Town and Whisky Peak but Zeke could probably give you more specifics on episode count.

Little Garden is after Whiskey Peak though, its more like 24 (or so, didn't check your figures) cut over the course of the eps that are on this week. But yeah, Fantastic Voyage is pretty butchered.

Well it seems I saw the episodes I missed I thought Luffy vs Zolo/Zoro was good but it was funny yet odd how Luffy just goes and attacks Zolo/Zoro like that O_o escape Misty peak was good to yet now were going into other big episode skip I see.

Before Fantastic Voyage, I think it was 9.
Then it became 32 by episode 84.

They could've at least added ice shards into the sky when Luffy fired the cannon. At least then, it would've been SOMEWHAT more believable than the iceberg just vanishing into thin air like nothing happened!
