Inner - And Outer - Demons

The fourth and final season of Yu Yu Hakusho has finally arrived. Memories of a Spirit Detective, the Dark Tournament, and Sensui are just that: memories. What is left for our team is personal battles in a Tournament to decide the ruler of Demon World. Who will wins?! Find out in "Farewell, Kurama" at 5:30 AM Eastern Time on Cartoon Network.

Previously on Yu Yu:

Suzuka, Shishi, Jin, and Touya were all eliminated, making the team Kurama invited to train 0-6 in the Tournament. But the victories for these demons were not in the ring. They each had matches that brought satisfaction to them and gave them new goals to fight for. The second round of the Demon World Tournament is set to begin.

Episode summary courtesy of www.yuyuhakusho.com (http://www.yuyuhakusho.com/):
Kurama faces down Shigure in the ring! But Kurama has to deal with the demons of his past—namely his choice to remain in the Human World. With the boiling up of tempers and anxieties comes the resurgence of Yoko Kurama! But will Kurama find a way to keep his anger from taking over?

Spoilers: If the episode has already aired you do not need to worry about using spoiler tags. If you must comment on episodes that have not yet aired you will need to use spoiler tags due to the number of people who have not seen the rest of the series. Also keep in mind that mods have to read these, they are people too and don't need to know about future details that could destroy their enjoyment of the episodes to come.

PHW's YYH Reflection: TZ's reigning Kurama fangirl is back for this episode's talkback. And it's pretty much on par for a Kurama fight: angst, blood, plants galore, climax, flashbacks, regret, more blood, Youko, and all that good stuff.

A more literal adaptation with a greater focus on the Japanese names and such can be found at www.reikai-tantei.cjb.net (http://www.reikai-tantei.cjb.net/). You know, I keep taping this, yet I haven't watched any of these episodes since, what? That Hei's past episode? And that was, what? Two months ago?

Ifeel like I should stop, but I feel like I should keep taping until the end (unless they show the episodes of the Sensui Arc that I missed).

I thought Kurama was going to kick the bucket  its a shame Shigure did though :( the fight wasn't so great so only an average episode here

I have stopped watching this on tv because of the time slot so I just watch it on my computer the day before it airs. But I thought this episode was a little lacadasical because I thought Kurama would stay in his demon form but ended up staying huaman and was still able to beat whats his face. Man he would have ripped him apart if he had stayed in his demon form.

Well that's it for me. Until next week.

I was really disapointed that youko came out but said nothing and was gone in 1 minute. The fight was lame as most YYH fights are and Shigure's death was really lame, come on take it like a man and fight on but I guess since they wanted the series to end quickly plots couldn't drag on for long. Kurama was great though he kept in there and relied on his own power. The show was average though nothing too spectacular about it but it wasn't bad either.

Would have liked Yoko to have done something.

John Burgmeier's two alter egos face off!

Kurama: I will not depend on Yoko any longer

Shigure: Highschool Girls, Highschool Girls!

Kurama face falts

Oh wait... that's a different Shigure... And this one isn't voiced by John Burgmeier obviously.

Interesting episode. Kurama wants to rely on his own power not the power of his past life.

ROFL. Nice, Sketch.

Anywho, time to actually post my thoughts on the episode. I've always liked this episode, but I'm a Kurama fangirl, so take that as you will. I've always thought Youko only making a short appearance was actually a good move. It shows how determined Kurama is to live his current life and not depend on his past persona. I also like the exchanges between Kurama and Yomi both at the beginning and at the end. And of course the scene where everyone goes out to check on Kurama. I especially liked how Mukuro turned away to allow Hiei the chance to go as well.

My favorite shot in the episode: At a knife's edge...

The blood was about the only edit in this episode.

In true Kurama fight fashion, there was blood in this fight.

Yeah I realized that it was a good move on the writers part to put Youko out there only for a minute and do nothing but being a Youko fan I wish he'd have been there longer. Other than the way it ended with Shigure's sacrifice or whatever he was doing the fight wasn't that bad, now that I think about it. And I've grown to like Yomi now too I saw their whole interaction of that show as his way of making peace. That was a good episode after all.

A good episode despite the lack of Yoko. Though, I'm glad to see Kurama relying on his own power. I've always found his past and persona to be interesting (though he's pretty difficult for me to write in my fanfics).

I liked the exchange between Yomi and Kurama. I'm more of a Raizen fan myself but I did grow to like Yomi by this point.

I give this episode a 4.5/5. :)

Looking forward to this week's (even though I own the whole series on DVD myself. But still a dedicated fan to one of my fave animes).

Waaaah! Cartoon Network was not coming in when YYH was on and I missed it! Right before I went to bed I noticed that CN was just a black screen, and I hoped it would come back before it was time for my VCR to start recording, but it didn't. I got a full half hour of black screen on tape, save for one commercial that I assume was a local ad.

Edit: Seen it now. Thank you, internet pirates.
