Anyone remember watching Galaxy High? It aired in 1986 on CBS after Pee-Wee's Playhouse. Doyle and Aimee are two high school students from Earth who transfer to an intergalatic high school full of alien students and teachers. Who would want to see it on DVD?

I sure do. One thing I remember most about that show is Howard Morris being the voice of this one teacher who was an ice being (kinda like Mr. Freeze),and thus his classroom had its temperature set to that of a freezer,so the regular characters had to wear winter clothes when taking his class.

As for DVDs,I don't think I'd buy them, but I wouldn't be suprised if they did.

I sort of remember it, and watching one episode. It was a cute premise, to have the nerdy girl being popular and the popular jock being the one who gets picked on. And the alien-boy with four arms was the most predominant alien I could remember for some reason.

I guess it would be interesting to see it on DVD, but there are a few cartoons I would like on DVD even more so like SWAT Kats and Mighty Max.

Cybertoon, please stop posting links to your website. I have already told you how to advertise it (you can submit it to the Links page or use your signature), but don't post it randomly on threads.

I have edited the posts to remove the links, so please don't do it again.

Now back to talking about Galaxy High...

Is this (http://www.vanguardanimation.com/films/gh.html) connected to it at all?

...It certainly SEEMS like it anyways.
The plot and name seem to close to be coincidental.

I didn't think the link at the bottom would hurt! Sooooorrrrrrry!

I remember just about all the episodes and was reaquinted with the show on its repeat run on the Sci Fi Channel ten years ago on their Animation Station.

I remember the Brain Blaster episode where Doyle gets hooked on a device that makes you smart for a bit but then drains you so you want more!

The episode where the gang go to Fort Lauderoid and Doyle has to warn them of the nearby supernova that is about to explode

The episode where everyone at Galaxy High except Doyle, Aimee and Prof. Icenstein get the Martian Mumps. They turn green and dull and the others must find a way to cure them.

The episode where Beef gets crowned the High Cholestrol buy the Cholestolians, only they want to eat him and Doyle must save him.

The show was animated by TMS Entertainment and created by the director Chris Columbus. Music by Don Felder, a former Eagles member.

Larry DiTillo was story editor.

I am like obsessed with this show and can't wait to see it on DVD!

Man, I remember when Dreamworks was founded, the Galaxy High movie was one of the first projects they announced. That, and a traditional 2D-animated movie based on Event Comics' Ash directed by the guy behind Akira. I think the latter was scrapped because Ash's co-creator, Joe Quesada, became a full-time Marvel zombie and lost interest in his creation.

I also remember that the Galaxy High movie was going to be live-action. But now it's gonna be, apparently, a 3D production from Vanguard, the studio that was founded by the creators of Shrek? Wow.

Funny how things just turn around like that.

They should've had more than one season of Galaxy High. I'm not sure if I'd purchase it on DVD, though.

Looks like Galaxy High will be released on DVD!!!

Found this press release from Anime On DVD.com:
Friday, February 17th 2006
Media Blasters New Title Solicitations (04:55 PM EST): The June slate of titles from the AnimeWorks side of Media Blasters has also gone out today:

# Genshiken: Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture Premium Collection - 375 minutes - $89.95 - 06/13/2006
# Kirameki Project Vol. #1 - 90 minutes - $19.95 - 06/13/2006

Also of note as I know several people who will be happy to hear this, similar to Invader Zim, the AnimeWorks line will be releasing the first of two volumes of the show Galaxy High School (English language only of course) in June. The first volume will have seven episodes for a price of $9.99.

While Media Blasters does have only two regular anime titles due out in June, they're certainly quite busy folks. Their other divisions, the live action material, has ten titles due out in June including more Zaotichi TV series episodes.

If anyone finds any more news about this let me know!
