The Black Family Channel (formerly the MBC Network) began airing "Tennessee Tuxedo and His Tales" and "The Underdog Show" Monday at 8:30 AM and 2:30 PM CST respectively, replacing "Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego" and the animated "Dennis the Menace". Not every episode of "Dennis" (78 half-hour episodes) was shown on the station, unfortunately. Today's "Underdog" episode featured two Underdog shorts and one featuring Tennessee. The "TV-Y7" rating only appeared during the station's bumpers, giving folks planning to tape the show for their home video archives a sigh of relief. There was no 1994 copyright as Tennessee and Chumley unrolled the "Don't Miss Our Next Show" scroll before "The Program Exchange" animation appeared.

So, how long will it take for a watcher of the Black Family Channel to complain about Underdog's secret identity being that of a shoeshine boy?

I'm not saying this to be offensive because I'm black, and I happen to love Underdog. I just know that someone will notice that.

Oh my. I enjoyed watching Underdog on Boomerang. Especially when Tennessee was on. And both Underdog and Tennesee Tuxedo and His Tales are on Black Family Channel. I don't get that channel. :( I'm hoping Dennis The Menace comes to Boomerang eventually!

Uh, no one, I assume?

I'm also Black and like Underdog. I'm more curious why it and "Tennessee" are airing on "Black Family Channel", of all stations...

Yeah, I get it. And yes, I am black.:p

I assume they know that there are members of the black community into classic cartoons, as my dad is a huge cartoon buff from back when he was a kid.

Unlike the Boomerang run however, the "Underdog" prints that BFC are airing are HORRIFIC. I assume Boomerang used to air these prints?

Then again, some of the older H-B series' prints are in horrible shape as well...........

The prints look like bootleg 16mms. But since they aren't hacked to death like what aired on Boomerang, I don't mind it.
