Thos is a mystery novel series that is often not discussed. I think there's about 11 books altogether so far, and I am a fan of the book series. I'm wondering what others opinions on it are.

If you've never heard of it, what the books are about is a woman named Harry Harristeen who works in a postoffice in a town in Virginia. In the books, a lot of murders occur, and all the main human characters are put in danger somehow. Harry's pets, a tiger cat named Mrs. Murphy, a corgi dog named Tucker, and a fat grey cat named Pewter (actually, belonged to a different character in the first 6 books), usually investigate when the humans aren't looking and solve the mysteries.

It's unique in a lot of ways. It comes off as a children's book series, yet is still very adult in many ways (a la Looney Tunes). The stories are good, and the characters are interesting, and Rita mae Brown is a great author. Has anyone here read these stories? I've read about 5 of them.
