And the final week is upon us. For many teams this will be the last we see of them in their present form. Be it coaches, quaterbacks or kickers, the only thing that's for certain about teams that end their season this weekend is that's nothing's for sure.

Many of those teams are possibly en route to drafting USC running back Reggie Bush with the first pick in the draft. New Orleans, Green Bay and N.Y. Jets are among the 3-12 teams. None of these teams will win in anything but an upset this weekend, but with the also 3-12 San Francisco hosting the "leading" 2-13 Houston, the Texans will either "lock it up" or possibly create a five-way tie!

After Week 16 the playoff picture is a much clearer image. The AFC South Champion Indianapolis Colts have homefield throughout and are set to be joined by New England (AFC East), Cincinnati (AFC North) and last week, Denver secured the AFC West and the other first round bye. Jacksonville has locked up one of the Wild Card spots with the Steelers just needing to win and the Chiefs needing help for the other spot.

In the NFC, West Champion Seattle Seahawks expanded their first round bye to include homefield advantage. They have officially been joined by the other bye team, Chicago (NFC North) and N.Y. Giants have playoff berth and need to win to keep the Redskins from the NFC East title. A Washington win makes them a Wild Card, coupled with a Giant loss, they'd take the East. The Panthers are in with a win and hope Tampa Bay loses as well so they can secure the NFC South. The Cowboys need a win and some help to have a shot at playing another week.

The 2005-2006 NFL Playoffs are pretty much set, with only Dallas and Kansas City holding out hope that they can still get into the playoffs (at the expense of Washington and Pittsburgh, respectively).

The real question now is, who's going to the Super Bowl? :)

I kind of liked seeing the teams that just needed to win getting the final Wild Card spots rather than other teams getting their 'help.' Just seems like that's the way it should be. It was nice that KC went out with a win for their coach. It gave Dick a happy reason to cry. You can tell that man really cares about his players.

And Reggie Bush belongs to the Texans if they want him. Jimmy Johnson thinks they should trade down to get more picks/players. I guess we'll have to see what the most likely new coach will do.

Even with the Bears operating at less than full strength, it was great seeing the Vikings cap off their season with a win. Coach Tice possibly goes out on positive note. He's supposed to have a meeting with Zygi tomorrow, but on Prime Time they said he has gotten word he is already gone.

It's a shame Tice was fired. He seemed like a really nice guy. This kinda reminds me of the way Tony Dungy was fired from Tampa a few years back.

Jimmy Johnson is a very smart man. The Texans don't need a new running back; what they need is an offensive line...

After Brad Johnson took over for Daunte Culpepper the team went on a roll of winning, just barely missing the playoffs. Tice deserves a better fate than this.

Tice's team really didn't perform that well under him. In the four years under Tice, the Vikings were only 32-32. The 6 game winning streak wasn't that great when you look at the teams they played against. Only the Giants had a winning records of all the teams they played. Also the new owner probably was looking at bringing in a new coach when he took over, unless the Vikings made a deep run in the playoffs.

You can add a few more names to Mike Tice. Jim Haslet, Mike Sherman, Mike Martz, and Dom Capers were relieved of their duties.

Pat Kirwan had a pretty good NFL.com article (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/9137295) abou "Black Monday." He cites the faith the Steeler owners have placed in Bill Cowher and questions many of the firings. Tice had done well, the players liked him and I can't help but think that in a couple more years they might have had all the tools. The Vikings don't go through coaches very fast—Tice was the sixth. Zygi would do well to remember that.

Another one bites the dust. The Raiders have fired Norv Turner.
