My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, and they're like it's better than yours. Damn right, it's better than yours. I could teach you, but I'd have to charge. >_<

And now I kick you for getting that hidiously annoying song in my head.

P.S. I don't like shakes much, except strawberry shakes from Denny's and Jamocha ones from Arby's.

My favorite chain milkshakes are Steak'n'Shake's. No artificial crap like McDonalds.

I know some great places that have good milkshakes like Steak n Shake, Dairy Queen, UDF(United Dairy Farmers), and Friendly's. Frostys are good at Wendy's and Rax can also make good milkshakes. Someday I shall I go and try one at Rax.

I'm not sure what that means, but it sounds pretty gross. It is... it's a horrid song by the Kelis or Keelies or something with a K and an S. It gets embedded into your brain and you can't get that darn beat or chorus out of your head for hours, sometimes days. Never listen to that song kids, it'll ruin your life like crack does.

Frostys are in a world of their own that cannot be reached by the average milkshake.

Wendy's looks down from on high to the scrounging, pathetic mouth-breathers we call McD, BK, and Arby's and stretches it's jaw in a wide sneer as it serves yet another wonderful frosty to it's streams of adoring customers.

Pfft...who needs milkshakes these days when the frosty is here to satisfy us all?

All the listed places suck due to lack of the best shake flavor ever: banana. McD's had one in the 80s or 90s, but the bastards dropped it.

Red Robin wins by default due to giving you a huge-ass banana milkshake, plus the metal container they make it in, effectively giving you 2 shakes.

Frostys are crap-- a bizarre and horrific hybrid creature that cannot commit itself to either the purity and love of vanilla or the deep heartfelt passion of chocolate.

The crown must be given to the Arby's Jamocha shake, although the Jack in the Box Oreo shake makes a strong case for itself as well.

Frostys don't count because (generally speaking) you can't actually drink them. You can drink a Frosty if you leave it in the fridge for a few hours. By evening it's a regular shake (and yes, it's still thick). I do this with a lot of Frosties.

My vote is for Dairy Queen, I've never had a Burgerville shake.

I used to love Mcdonald's milkshakes. They used to taste really good when you let them sit in the refrigerator for a while so they melted and got really smooth. Now they have these triple thick shakes that are nasty. Who's retarded idea was this? You can't even drink them with a straw. If I wanted to eat ice cream I'd eat ice cream. I want a shake damn it!

And then Burger King actually ripped off the triple thick milkshake idea from McDonald's! Jeezus, I know Burger King has trouble coming up with ideas by themselves, but if they're going to rip off Mcdonald's ideas, they should at least make sure they're ripping off a good idea.

Wait?

What about Wendy's Frostys? They now allow you to add st5uff into them.

But, Frostys only come in one flavor. Seriously, Wendy's employees must get asked if there's any other flavors at least 5 times a day, when are they going to add more flavors?

Besides, Frostys are eaten with a spoon, so they don't count as a milkshake, despite what McDonald's says.

Death to the Triple Thick Milkshake!

All the listed places suck due to lack of the best shake flavor ever: banana. McD's had one in the 80s or 90s, but the bastards dropped it.

They didn't drop them, it was a special. Next time you go to Mcdonald's ask them what the special shake is. It's usually coffee, but every couple of months they get a special shake flavor. These have included Blueberry, Apple Pie, Egg Nog, Shamrock, and Banana.

In terms of the national chains, I think Sonic's got pretty good milkshakes. There's only three flavors, but they've got those three flavors down pat. Besides, if you want something different you can always choose from one of the 3,248,567 other items on their desert menu. Jack in the Box has pretty OK shakes, too. It's been a few years since I subjected myself to a Jack in the Box, but if I recall accurately their shakes were pretty much the only thing they had going for them circa 2000.

That said, I'll assert my belief that if you really want a good milkshake, you're going to have look beyond the chains. This applies to all the other polls Brettfern's starting, too, and saves me from having to reply to the coffee thread. The top-notch shakes are generally going to come from some place other than a fast-food joint. There's quite a few places here in Austin (notably Player's, which is a convenient three-minute walk from my dorm) with milkshakes about ten times more satisfying than anything you'll get at a burger chain.

Debatably under this classification, a Frosted Orange is a must with two chili dogs and onion rings if you go to the Varsity.

Bonus points if you go to THE Varsity.

Semi-bonus points if you go to the one near Town Center Mall.

You don't know what Arby's is?I believe the member was simply referring to the shakes, seeing as this is a topic about shakes... plus you already responded to what Knux said about Arby's giving a small description, by mentioning the sandwiches. And I can't help but ask this question: Why don't you just edit your posts instead of posting five-thousand times with no substance!?

Anyway, Jamocha shakes freakin' rock, and I'm very happy to hear that K5 enjoys them as well. Because if he didn't, I'd have to yell at him. I may yell at him anyway, just because it's fun to yell at boys. Especially Knux, because there's a lot of stuff you can tease/yell at him about.

Frostys don't count because (generally speaking) you can't actually drink them.Aye, it's true! And once it melts, it's... weird. I dunno, not frosty-ish. But! It's a good thing that Frostys are thick, because it's better to dip fries in. Mmm... frosty with fries. Ah, that makes me miss salty fries from Wendy's, now. I haven't gotten salty fries from there in years; what happened?

IIRC, Mint. You're correct. Those are really yummy, but get SO gaggy! I tried the eggnog shake once and... blargh. Was the orange one a Dreamsicle type, by any chance?

You're correct. Those are really yummy, but get SO gaggy! I tried the eggnog shake once and... blargh. Was the orange one a Dreamsicle type, by any chance?

You mean, Vanilla and Orange? Nope, the Arctic Orange was just orange. Mcdonald's did one time offer an Orange Dream McFlurry which was orange concentrate mixed with vanilla ice cream. Unfortunately, the ad made it look like a drink and people got confused. They'd always order one and said "My straw isn't working." and then the workers would have to explain that they need to use a spoon to eat ice cream. It wasn't very popular because of this. I'd say the only flavor of McFlurry that was less popular was the Candy Cane McFlurry. I'm a big fan of mint, but damn, that thing was nasty. It was so strong that I couldn't even finish it. It was gone within a week.

Peppermint sundaes? I've never heard of those. Was the sauce peppermint flavored or the ice cream?

As for Egg Nog, that's why you put alcohol in it. Too bad they don't put alcohol in the shakes. When I was working at Mcdonald's I had this conversation with a co-worker:

Me:How are the Egg Nog shakes?
Co-worker:They're great. They put real alcohol in it.
Me:Really?

In one of my classes in 8th grade, we were put into groups. There were about 10 different activities you could get, and you worked on them for a week each. One of them was a radio DJ/announcer/host simmulation. There was all this audio equipment in this room seperate from the main classroom and a microphone. My group would put the radio on when the teacher was not looking and that song was on constantly at the time. Those were some pretty good times.

I've had McDonalds and Burger King shakes, as well as Stake and Shake. Burger King has improved their shakes, but McDonalds is still my favorite.

One stupid move by McDonalds was getting rid of the chocolate ice cream. Does anyone still have a McDonalds with it?

One stupid move by McDonalds was getting rid of the chocolate ice cream. Does anyone still have a McDonalds with it?

The Mcdonald's that I used to work at NEVER had chocolate ice cream. It has been one of my life's goals to try Mcdonald's chocolate ice cream. But, I could never find a store that sold it. I one time found out there was one Mcdonald's in my city that sold it and on the day I went there they were reconfiguring the machine to get rid of the chocolate ice cream! I one time went to Canada for a school trip and was going to try to the chocolate ice cream at a Mcdonald's there, but the line was too long and we had to be somewhere at a certain time so we went to Subway instead. Argh! Now, you're telling me that all the Mcdonald's have gotten rid of it? Damn it. Now I'll never get to try it.

Does anyone still have a McDonalds with it? Whenever I get soft-serve ice cream at Mickey D's, I order vanilla. I never knew they got rid of chocolate ice cream..

Ruby's Burger in Woodland Hills CA has the best shake I've had (Mocha).

Of the chains, In-N-Out Burger has the best, especially the strawberry shake.
