Well Guys it was an interesting year and on the second my last day of the disney internship will arrive and it will be time for me to go home to Colorado and finish college. From August until December I have been through some interesting changes and and fun times that I will remember forever. Some of them will be good memories some of them will be bad.

I thought it was a good idea to tell you all some interesting things I have learned during the disney internship just in case any of you have decided to try this out when you go to college and I can warn you about them.

-Odds are you will have roommates who hate disney and only came here because they wanted Disney on their resume or because they just wanted to get away from their parents.

-Odds are you will have roommates who like to party and you will be the nomad of the entire apartment room, hanging on the computer or just working like a dog.

-Odds are some of yoru roommates will hate cartoons and you wonder why the hell they do.

-When you get a pamplet about starting off for the disney internship and there is a statement in there that says. "Don't worry about bringing a car we have excellent transportation here to transport you to and from work" What they really mean is "Please bring a car, transportation sucks here," I had to arrive for work at Typhoon Lagoon an hour early because that is the earliest it would be there by.

-Cleaning the broiler is just as gross as it sounds.

-NOthing is more hilarious than hearing a drunk guy whose real name is Simba sing Haukuna Matata.

-If its raining outside all the guests at Typhoon lagoon will run to the Leaning Palms for food and one of them will want coffee and even though they just got wet they will not walk a few feet in the rain to get sugar and will want their money back.

-If you have to clean something by the end of the day and your break is late make sure you give the cleaning duties to someone who knows how to clean what you are doing otherwise you will return to find that the person has started a fire in the fryers. and I was only gone for 15 minutes.

-You will have the same hours every day at Typhoon Lagoon.

-Your hours will be scattered every day at Magic Kingdom

-Even though you work on the east side of the Magic Kingdom you will never be able to work Toon Town. :(

-Having the park to yourself in the morning is nice.

-Watching people run to the dumbo ride at first opening is funny.

-watching cast members ride Segways is even more funny.

-Disney characters are people too. :D

-The Magic Kingdom tunnel is very big, when you first arrive you will feel like you need to be accompanied by an adult just to find the place you need to meet your trainer at.

-Cinderellas castle is smaller than it looks, its only 180 feet. Why? Because if it was 200 tthen it would have to have an airplane light and that would look wrong.

-Having the freedom to visit the parks when you please is nice.

-Even though Scuttles landing only has cream cheese flavored preztels which are very good by the way people will still come for regular preztels and you will have to explain to them that they are cream cheese and they will give you the most disgusted look ever even though they have never tried them.

-One of your roomies will join toon zone but she will never post.

-you will crave ice cream when you work at the ice cream store,

-Don't eat any food you are making, you will get fired for taking even one bite.

-It will only be 68 degrees outside but guests will still flock around you for hot chocolate.

Well I think thats everything, I may have missed something. but any way it was a nice experience becasue I wanted to see what it was like to work for Disney. The managers were cool but very strict so don't get on their bad side. I might work there again one day but not in food in beverage. So if that does happen hopefully I'll run into whoever does it. Now I cannot wait to go home and return to my normal life with friends and playing in the snow. :anime: :D

I thought this was a regular job for you(it's why you actually appeared at Disneyland in the Eisner comic I drew). Didn't know it was an internship....dang. Even if you hated it there, it just sounds cool to say "I work at Disney World" to a message board. What'll ya do with your life now?

Yeah its mainly because she started draining it out as soon as she turned it off, you are supposed to wait about five mintues before you can do that. And because she had to go home I was left cleaning up her mess.

Then what were they DOING there??
They partied mostly and worked but only because they wanted Disney on their resume.

Yeah I thought everyone knew that. But thats okay I forgive you. :anime: I still love that comic though.

Oh I didn't hate it its just that some days were more crazy than others and big lines make me nervous like today I know when I get into work their will be a huge line and everyone will be wanting hot chocolate and regular pretzels but then I would have to tell them to go to the preztel wagon once they reach the register. Yeah around this time of year it is very busy. It was even busy on thanksgiving day.

And I am still thinking about what to do with my life. I may go back if I can't find anything that appeals to me but not food and beverage, maybe entertainment or something. At least Disney helped me get ready for the real world because now I know what to expect and that is what I was hoping it would do for me.

Cool anecdotes. We want more dirt! Tell us all the crazy stuff that happens behind the scenes.

If you're in costume on your last day you should indulge in some kind of mischief. Steal kids' ice cream when their parents aren't looking, give senior citizens wedgies, or walk up and sock Mickey in the gut when he's in the middle of a big photo-op.

So you want to know about behind the scenes eh. Well to tell you the truth there are so many that I can't remember them all, or remember really how back stage is since I am a food and beverage person but I will still tell you a few.

Okay a read a story once that when Walt Disney Was alive that he would sometimes spend the night in Disneyland and would startle third shift as he wandered around in his bathrob.

Mickey is usually a girl

YOu have to be a certain height requirement to be a certain character.

According to the Imagineers, Stitchs Great Escape is their greatest embarrasment. I don't know why, I like that ride.

There are little garages where the imagineers fix the car you ride in near the spot where the ride is.

For some reason its really hot under the castle tunnel, I forget why that is.

Daisy duck is the shortest disney character, that is why you never see her out.

There are garages for both monorail and trains during the night

There is a factory behind the magic kingdom that makes character heads.

Yeah thats all I can think of right now, sorry.

I should but I really don't want to be terminated from working at Disney ever again. Its too much fun there. Maybe steal my cousins ice cream when they come tomorrow but I'll have to see if they do come since they are still deciding for some reason.

Last night they had some new years eve fireworks, yeah they have them for two nights in case you are wondering. I was able to watch it since I had a late shift and I must say that they did a really good job. They overdid it at the end though because the front of the tunnel got really smokey.

I read about the Disney Internships. It sounded like a big deal at the time, but then I read horror stories from former employees, and it really turned me around. Not to mention that I did drop off a resume to Casting Dept., and haven't heard three words from them since.

Walt Disney World: A nice place to visit, you wouldn't want to work there. In fact, with a personality like mine, you wouldn't want to visit either.

It doesn't have to be anything major. Just weird stuff that occurred while you were there. Like customers cussing out employees in front of kids, or a golf cart running over Goofy's toe, or whatever suspicious ingredients go into the food offerings at the Magic Kingdom. I bet you were given some sort of manual that established a code of conduct in various customer service situations. That must have some wacky passages.

Okay a read a story once that when Walt Disney Was alive that he would sometimes spend the night in Disneyland and would startle third shift as he wandered around in his bathrob.

So the whole park was Walt's casting couch, eh?

Mickey is usually a girl

So... that means Mickey and Minnie are...

Daisy duck is the shortest disney character, that is why you never see her out.

??? Because there are no employees short enough to play her?
