So I guess it's not just the OP animation that borrows bits from the Matrix.
That helicopter scene on the roof looked a little familiar ;)

Great episode. Man the animation and choreography is fantastic.
And the more we see the Tachikomas the better.

Shame on me for not paying as much attention as I should have. And given that, I have to say, who the hell is that freak who I saw them talking to for a breif second?

You know what a can also Take down a AI-controlled Helicopter?
Preety Good episode, good dialouge by the Tachikomias, and introducing Scar II and possible plot developments?

This was a very interesting episode. Got me totally hooked on the storyline finally. I only hope that Gohda becomes a semi-regular.
I'm watching this one again.
And given that, I have to say, who the hell is that freak who I saw them talking to for a breif second?Gohda, an agent of the CIS (not the CSI). We'll be seeing more of him, don't worry.

Brilliant.

Aramaki puts it best at episode's end. This is the groundwork being laid for something even more sinister. So what is that, per se? This completely felt like a set-up episode all the way, but there were enough notable moments to keep this interesting enough to pay attention to.
7 out of 10 for "Natural Enemy."

The music that was playing when the helicopters were chasing the tachikomas was really good! Really made the moment feel exciting!
And it appears that the guy with the funny face will make regular appearances throughout the show. I guess whenever I see him, I will point at him and say "Look! It's Funny Face Man!" or something like that.

Brilliant. I missed that idea entirely.
A really good show, with another chance to see tachicomas in full action.
My impression of the show was a lot of noise to hide something subtle. All those gigabachis just to stir anger in the refugees,,, all the tachicoma action to line one chopper up for a single sniper shot. Gave everything a nice layerd tactics feel.

It's in the Episode Title, after all. "Natural Enemies".I picked up on that when the Tach said the gigabachi's were antitank weapons. The part that went past me was relating the copters to a wasp. Watched all those nature programs for nothing it seems :anime:

I find it interesting how the spider form is really useful for tanks...and the wasp form really useful for anti-tanks. Essentially mimicking nature even further.

I thought that this was a pretty "Gouda" episode.
(Just had to make pun)
Does anyone know the name of that song that played when the Tachi's and Heli's fought? It's also the 4th song on the 2nd gig website, if it helps.

And yeah, I got the spider vs. wasp thing. I applaud the creativity in that.

Essentially mimicking nature even further.Long story short as to the reason why the tachikomas' designs are based off of spiders is that Shirow Masamune (creator of the GitS manga series) keeps numerous spiders as pets in his home. (Reference: Dark Horse unedited GitS manga book Vol 1, second to last page, last paragraph, bottom right corner of the page.)
Anyway, I found this to be a good episode and I look forward to next week's episode.

Dude...it's pretty much all the backstories of nearly every character. Wait till you see how Saito got his eye! It's quite a shocker. ^_^ As for Motoko's...you'll love the music they put with it, and how well it's made. It's quite an emotional rollercoaster if you ask me.

Certain Wasps just so happen to be their natural enemies.
